I’m not one to write reviews but I just had to put this out there. I’ve gone here a few times and they usually do a good job but I think their prices are outrageous. They won’t give you a firm price on the phone, you have to go in and they need to look at your hair in order to give you a price, which I suppose is fair. What I don’t think is fair is paying $40 for a trim. I usually trim my hair at home but the stylist repeatedly insisted I get a trim there, so I did. The service was fine but when it came time to pay, they didn’t have Apple Pay which is okay so I used my card…I believe this also happened the last time I was there but they charged me almost $10 in SALES TAX on top of my service. To be honest, I found that weird. My service was (wash+ blow dry+ deep cond) =$65, add the $40(trim)= $105 PLUS SALES TAX = $115.32

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The communication with the supervisor/manager is horrible. I used this place for a groupon package I purchased. I was charged one of my sessions the person on the phone told me I would have to speak to a manager to rectify the situation. I had also purchased a facial package. I’ve been waiting for months while waiting now my groupon has expired. Still to this day I haven’t spoken to the manager. He is never there and has yet to return my call.

Every time I call all the notes are there from when I call and that I’m waiting for a call back every time I stop by same issue. Just this past weekend I stopped in and someone there told me I had to wait till she finished with a client to verify my voucher. THAT TAKES TWO SECONDS. Should I have to wait hours till she finishes pressing a customers hair smh.

OMG! There aren't enough characters in this post for me to express my appreciation and describe my amazing experience! I walked into the House of Hair as a last-minute decision after my regular stylist canceled on me. I was greeted by vibrant energy and a smiling face; front desk personal Ciara washed my hair and I must say, I feel like I have the cleanest hair in NYC 😂😂. The Owner Lisa is fabulous!! She and Ciara worked harmoniously to remove my previous style ( 28 pieces bonded to a wig cap). After Ciara nurtured my scalp, Lisa gave me a phenomenal trim and a flawless silk press!!!!! For the first time in ages, I felt like I got my money worth!!!!! P.S the bathroom was clean with a cute ambience too 🚽...
