rude staff, overpriced, allergen liabilities.
Paid $9 for a small smoothie, clarified ALMOND butter not PEANUT. When I got the smoothie it tasted like peanut (pretty distinct flavor especially for someone who used to be ALLERGIC). I asked the people at the counter to clarify that it wasn’t peanut. They said yes it’s almond, they taste the same (?) and gestured to the jars sitting right next to each other, but said they could make me another. I asked to taste the almond butter to clarify and the guy at the counter said they’ll just make another and acted like I was wasting their time. Lo and behold the new smoothie did not taste like peanuts, they had been wrong the first time. It’s super DANGEROUS to give someone the wrong nut butter, you don’t know if they’re deathly allergic or something, and they acted like I was imagining it. Pay more attention especially when handling one of the most common allergens in the world. Bf paid $16 for a croissant egg sandwich which could’ve been half the...
Read moreThe food was healthy and decent—- the service, however was not so good. After inquiring with the restaurant about how they operated for dining in, I was told they would find me at my seat once the food was ready. They asked for my name and I found a seat. After waiting for over 20 minutes and having the waitress come up to me three times with other peoples orders and seeing people who ordered after me receive their meal, I went to inquire about my food. I was told that they “couldn’t find me so we left your meal at the front”. I was extremely upset because I had been waiting for my meal and this operation wasn’t an efficient one. Plus I knew I had been in a location where I could be seen and found because clearly the waitress came up to me several times. While eating my food I also found a piece of plastic in the meal. I probably will never return just base on this experience. Very...
Read moreHealth food cafe with plenty of options and dietary accommodations. There’s a laidback, neighborhood feel and staff have always been friendly. For someone that’s trying to eat clean, this spot uses fresh ingredients that work really well together. The prices are hefty but the portions make up for it on most of the items. Great spot in the Prospect Heights area! Below is a breakdown of what I ordered, along with my thoughts. Asterisks (*) indicate items I especially enjoyed and would recommend ordering again.
*The Nurrita Breakfast Burrito ($16) - One of favorites here. It’s packed with veggies, eggs, and potatoes. You can forget the hot sauce since this burrito does not miss!
Queen Caesar Wrap ($17) - As caesar wraps go, I’m not mad about this one. It’s pretty one-dimensional with a decent amount of chicken. Some citrus and croutons would...
