Fantastic pizza sold by the slice in a cozy small pizzeria. Dough and crust is light, airy, but crusty on the outside. Almost foccia like! Definitely different that your typical NY slice or neopolitan style. Fresh delicious toppings. Not greasy, but still flavorful.

Pros: Crust. All pizza should be judged on their crust, and this place has got it. Again, different than typical NY style, but delicious! Toppings. They have some interesting options, such as a pea sauce with cheese. Seems like they rotate toppings.

Cons: None that I can think of. Small place, definitely not a sit down restaurant. They have a few tables you can sit on, but I'd rather take it to a park nearby.

All in all, definitely worth visiting to...

Roman-style al taglio pizza. Square and thick, but not a Siccilian slice- much lighter and airier, melts in your mouth. Bottom has a paper thin hard crust that crackles. Excellent char. I got the Bufala - super simple, with an emphasis on premium ingredients- just large warm fresh bufala mozzarella, roasted italian tomatoes, and fresh basil. Out of this world. Seriously reminded me of pizza I had in Rome.

On the way out, I saw they were selling fresh sourdough loaves so I picked up a half loaf for five dollars. Almost impossible to cut because the crust is so well done, but absolutely amazing thick flavorful, huge dark crust, with an absolutely pillowy interior. Next time, I’ll see if they have a cutting...

Ate here twice in the last few days while working in the area. Visit 1, splurged on the bufala which was superb. Light/fluffy/crispy crust with sweet & tangy sauce and fresh basil & olive oil added after the oven. Totally exceeded my expectations for this style of pizza. Visit 2 I got the margherita and while still tasty, it was a little heavy/greasy (a lot of cheese) and not as crispy. A little fresh basil would have gone a long way, but it almost felt reserved for the high rollers who order bufala lol. You could get a better margherita slice from a counter within a few blocks, but I'll definitely be back here to try the other slice flavors and the...

Excellent, excellent, and yes excellent. I have heard from many of my neighbors how much they enjoy the square pizzas at Impasto. I finally had several slices and enjoyed every one of them. Pepperoni Slice, Margherita Slice, Radicchio Slice, and Trifolata Slice. What a delicious lunch and dinner, I was delighted that they cut each slice in half without me asking. Now thats good customer service. A friendly team and gracious when asking questions. I rate them the #1 pizza establishment to date in Clinton Hill Brooklyn. Yummy
