It's surprising that Jensen-Lewis is so highly reviewed on Google. In my experience, even the tepid Yelp reviews overrate this company. My wife and I ordered a JL sofa in November. We still haven't received our sofa. If you don't want to read the rest of this review, just know that JL is irresponsibly uncommunicative and gives wildly optimistic timelines that they will fail to meet and push multiple times. I recommend looking elsewhere for your furniture.
When we ordered the sofa, the sales associate David told us it would take around 6-8 weeks to build it and get it delivered. Come January, we still haven't received the sofa, but more annoyingly, there is no word from JL. We reach out to David, who of course punts our request to Mike in customer service and makes the process way more cumbersome than need be. We are now vaguely told the sofa will get delivered in early February. It doesn't get delivered then, and again radio silence. We reach out to Mike again, and only now we're told the leather for the sofa hasn't even arrived at the factory. But now our sofa is scheduled to be completed on February 18 and will be delivered in 7 to 10 calendar days. Come February 18, we reach out again, already guessing that the sofa is far from completed and just wondering what excuse JL comes up with this time. Now we're told the sofa is scheduled to be completed March 3. But good news, at least the leather arrived. We're not so sure it did.
David the sales associate did not say a word about the leather we chose being harder to source. Which makes us think that this delay was not expected, which means JL has no control over or even visibility into the sourcing and production process.
Your time, energy, and of course money will be better spent elsewhere. I'll update this review once we get the sofa, which I'm hoping will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am amazed that this company got such good reviews. However, if you look in Yelp, youāll see all the issues people have had with Jensen Lewis. I bought 2 Fjord Axel Recliners with Battery costing me close to $6000. Although the chairs come with batteries, they donāt tell you that you have to flip these heavy chairs over to connect yourself! My husband and I are in our 70s and this was what we were told to do. After much discussion and endless emails back and forth with Customer Service, they finally agreed to send 2 workmen who were the same men who originally delivered our chairs. We were told to let them look at a video to which we had been sent a U Tube link by Customer Service. These workers were very pleasant and tried to connect the batteries without watching the video however, my husband, who had watched the video realized they had connected the batteries incorrectly. He tried to explain this and one of them watched the video but with difficulty as their English was limited. They eventually correctly connected the batteries and we tipped them. Btw, the entire time that I was trying to get some help with getting these batteries connected, I was provided with multiple links to a variety of videos regarding the battery-both how to connect it and how long the charge should last. I will admit that the videos were complicated to follow when it came to how to connect them. They were also contradictory in regard to the amount of time that the battery charge would last- varying from 4 weeks to 9 weeks! Unfortunately, our batteries never lasted longer than 6 to 7 days, with one chair only holding the battery charge for three days. Clearly the batteries had seen better days! This was the first issue that I had with Jensen Lewis. An additional and worse issue will be stated in in a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was recently shopping for a new media cabinet, and found one from a company called BDI that suited our needs. BDI furniture is sold by a variety of high-end furniture retailers, Jensen-Lewis being one of them.
After shopping around, I chose Jensen-Lewis firstly because of their shipping and delivery policy. The entire unit would be pre-assembled, delivered/installed, and packaging removed, for no additional charge. Other companies would deliver for the same price, but it would have been delivered in a box to our building's lobby, and it would've been up to us to unbox and assemble the item. Jensen-Lewis made it SO EASY.
Additionally, the night that I added items to my shopping cart (but didn't click to purchase yet), I received a phone call and an email, asking if I had any questions or wanted to talk about my potential order. I actually was debating between two finishes of the cabinet, and the representative (David) was very helpful in discussing this with me. Additionally, when I finally made the choice to pull the trigger on the purchase, he took $200 off, since the item had a previous sale in that amount when I started shopping for it, even though the sale had technically ended.
After the purchase was made, I received separate correspondence to schedule the delivery, which was executed flawlessly. I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase nor the friendly, professional way it was handled by the folks at Jensen-Lewis. I'll be sure to check out Jensen-Lewis again for other furniture purchases in the future, and I recommend...
