Let me start this by explaining that each room at The Lombardy has a different owner. Meaning, each room is different and your experience may be very different from mine. So if you read plenty of good reviews besides mine, these can totally be true. However, this was our experience and I would like to share this with you.

Our room had plenty of issues. Old furniture with clear signs of use, a floor tile in the bathroom was broken, the wardrobe had a stench of urine in it, the bathroom mirror was damaged and taped over, the plaster on a corner was scratched off, the bathroom door was expanded at the bottom due to water damage, the bathroom door hinges were rusty, the protection on the glass surfaces was partly missing, partly deformed, some surfaces were a bit dusty as if they weren't cleaned properly, there was a little bit of trash left from previous guests and we couldn't sleep on 2 of 4 nights because our neighbours used their AC which made our bedroom window rattle. We'll remember The Lombardy as "the crack den experience".

To be fair, the room was technically liveable and at least the location was great. Also, the staff provided decent service. Although bringing up the issues with our room only ended in them wondering what I wanted them to do. And maybe that was my mistake. I probably should have pulled off a "Karen" and demanded a better room. So, if you want to stay here and get room 604 or another room you don't like, you now know what to do.

In the end I feel scammed and won't come back to this hotel. Also, I would highly recommend to everyone thinking about booking a room here to keep this in mind. If you like the gamble, go for it. But if you want something more consistent where you know what you'll get, maybe stay at a...

Poor Customer service Pros The hotel is located near the subway . only a few blocks away. The suite was spacious.

CONS, Beds uncomfortable.

The front desk (Joann) is rude. I was reminded several times that I booked through a third party. You still got paid.

Cleaning people need to pay more attention to detail. 4 people in a room. need at least 4 bath towels. nope , they would leave 3. Had to call and ask for it.

resort fee daily, (don't have a problem paying it) was suppose to be gym access and bottled water in the room. had to ask for it everyday and was told only at check in. wait i am paying a resort fee.

When I booked it was suppose to be Continental breakfast included. Well that changed to buffet breakfast for 2 only. there were 4 in my party and that was 16.99 each (buffet not that exceptional at that price) On Saturday (breakfast 7-945) it was late almost 730. had to leave without breakfast because we had a tour booked. they would not comp that for the next day. wanted to charge for a diet coke as I do not drink coffee or tea. Had to ask for water. American Cut is the restaurant that serves breakfast and is attached to the hotel. Rude there as well.

Checking out had to ask Joann for a printed copy of the bill for the resort fees. Did not want any surprises .

Asked the door man to hail a taxi for us. He wanted to have us use the hotel car at 65.00 to the airport. Seriously the taxi is only 43.00 with tip.

I would not recommend staying here to anyone, and I travel...

I came here with my family for my 18th birthday less than two weeks ago. Upon arrival, the hotel looked beautiful, and I was so excited to celebrate! I have not written a review out of shock, and am very disappointed The Lombardy has not made an effort to make this right. The day after arrival, the day before my 18th birthday, I decided to take a shower in what looked like a beautiful bathroom. Finishing up my shower, as I am opening the glass shower door, the glass SHATTERS all over my body. Keep in mind, I did not slam the door open, I simply started to open it. Thankfully, there were two showers, as my mother had to physically remove me from one shower in order to get into the other shower with me to get the glass shards out of my body. Blood all over my face, legs, chest, arms, feet. The front desk asked “if we needed help with cleaning the bathroom up” as if there was no urgency! As if this happened often? My dad had to ask them three separate times to come clean up the glass, as they ended up leaving shards lying around! I cried throughout my whole trip because the image of swimming in a pool of glass kept replaying in my mind. I wish this could have been avoided, or even made up for, and I was sad to see this respected hotel fail to do so. Following the accident, I met with my doctor who was in complete shock that there was no compensation. If you are staying at this hotel, I hope this never happens to you! And if the hotel sees this, I am...

I did not have a 4-star experience with this hotel. Each room is “unique”, as their site says, because each room has a different owner (?) so it’s a crapshoot what you get, and I lost. I arrived and the room was easily 80 degrees; I cranked the wall unit to the coldest setting but it took until the next afternoon to cool the space appropriately (not a sufficient unit for the size of the room). There was also a rollaway bed in the room as well as hospital discharge paperwork from a previous guest, so it seems the room was never fully turned over between guests. An upholstered chair had numerous stains; the mattress was thin and creaky; the sink in the kitchenette dripped all over the counter when it was on; the TV didn’t work (power but no live TV or wifi connection for streaming); one of the bedside lamps didn’t work. Honestly just a mess. To be fair, with the exception of the rollaway bed and medical discharge papers I found, I didn’t bring this up with the front desk until I checked out, so they didn’t have an opportunity to correct the issues—but quite frankly, there were so many issues I didn’t have a lot of hope that a room switch would be better. I will not stay here again based on this experience.

This is NOT a hotel. This is not what you see on most reviews/websites. My room and my friend’s room were gross. We did not know the rooms were INDIVIDUALLY OWNED. So there is no consistency from room to room. It felt like I was staying in someone’s else poorly decorated and unsafe home. My door opened into the hallway - the door physically swung into the hall, not the room. Also, only 1 lock. The entrance is not monitored and there is no key card access on the elevator. No room service, no washcloths, no extra blankets or linens, no bar, no restaurant, no ambient music, no pleasing smells. We left after 2 hours our check in. We didn’t even ask for our money back. Was not about to unpack in our rooms. If you do stay, ask for a room from the website. Otherwise, it’s a crapshoot. 🤷🏼‍♀️
