Key Food Supermarkets — Local services in New York

I used to be a regular customer at this store and it was my favorite supermarket to shop at that was until I saw how the manager, John not only treated customers but how he treated his staff as well!! In my last shopping experience I saw him turn his back on an elderly woman who asked if he could fix the bottle machine, checked a woman’s bag and gave her hassle because he thought she was stealing when she clearly was on the line paying like the rest of us, refused to give me the price shown for one of the items I was buying because it was “last weeks sale” on top of yelling at the cashier who was helping me because they disagreed with his decision. This has NOT been the first time and I strongly doubt it will be the last! I will never shop here again and urge others to do the same as long as that man is the manager of...

The rotund security guard needs a reality check and customer service training. When you talk to people as if they are already going to steal something - aggressively asking them to take a basket is ridiculous. Does he talk to men like that? Or is just okay to speak to young women like that? I reacted back with vitriol because I won't let some stranger rudely speak to me under the pretense of doing his job. I don't do my main shopping here so when I go in, it is mainly to pick up one or two items as this Key Food is on my way after coming from the gym. I follow the instructions and don't use my personal bag - never have at any grocery store. So give me the courtesy to pick up a few items and hold in my HAND. I will never patronize this...

I like going to this shop because it is closet to my accommodation. I find the young male cashiers to be very respectful one in particular reminds me of my son, and I call him 'Nephew'. He is very kind, the young lady's are fair but it's easier to relate to the males. The Spanish ones not so much they are kind of dismissive and again they don't speak English fluently so half the time you're beckoning to them and they'll ignore you. The prices are relatively reasonable here for some goods, but vegetables/fruits prices are...
