Bellyful — Restaurant in New York

Arrived at 4:45pm and ordered right away. Waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food to come and I have a 5 year old with me. mind you there were zero people in the place other than 2 people sitting at the bar. The whole time the waiter, bartender and cooks just kept looking at us from the window in the kitchen. Even after I complained, all I got was a "sorry, the food is coming". Terrible service all around. I had high hopes as I've passed by many times and said to my wife we should eat there. I honestly would've felt better if the people who worked there atleast showed some kind of empathy or something towards us, maybe come over and see how we are doing, offer some kind of reason why the food is taking so long, anything at all! But instead everyone was just eyeing us from across the room when they could clearly tell we weren't happy. These are basic things to do when in food service, or any kind of service dealing with the public for that matter. At the end of it all we just took all our food to go so it was glorified takeout. Can't even tell you how the food is cuz I'm not even hungry anymore cuz of how upset the whole situation made me. I now see other reviews on here saying they've had similar experiences so I say this to the ower, don't just comment on our reviews and tell us that you look forward to addressing and fixing the issues that our reviews have brought up. Just do it. Do what you have to do to fix these issues immediately cuz I assure you they will be your downfall. Train your employees in customer service and how to relay messages to the people that are sitting in the room and don't just stare at them while they're upset that their food is taking forever. Communication is key and it goes a long way is customer satisfaction as had someone there said anything to us I wouldn't even be writing this review right now. With that I say good day...

This was my first time and I was very pleased from the door. I was waiting for a friend and got there early. My waitress I believe her name was Oaklin, I hope I said it right. She was very attentive and made sure I was ok. I had the strawberry mojito and catfish fritters which were very healthy in size and portion (6) trust me you only need 6 lol. My drink was good didn't want anything hard I was nursing a headache. My friend did arrive and she had the fritters as well. She also ate the rest of mines lol and she had a mango mojito she said it was good as well. I had the Honey garlic Salmon with mashed, veggies and plantains and baby it was on point. The Salmon had spice but it wasn't heavy it was just right. Im.not a big cabbage eater but I kinda tried to eat all mines last night. And the serving was healthy as well. My friend had the Oxtail,rice and I believe it was Jasmine rice with peas ( don't quote me on that) lol, veggies and plantains. She enjoyed it. Can I tell y'all about the bathroom lol. Very Very clean and real cute to me, I like the way the had it. Nice big clean clear mirror on the door. Took me a sec to get how to flush the toilet lol I like how they have it. Nice decor throughout the place ( sorry i forgot to take more pictures). We will definitely be coming back here more often. Only issue I had was I made it there for happy hour and when I went to order the waitress Oaklin told me due to covid they were not doing happy hour, but I asked them on Instagram a few days before and they told me it was 5-8 and I got...

For Starters Uno Call Bellyful & I LEFT WITH MY BELLY NOT FULL 😒

For the most part me & my partner(also a chef working in the Carribean food business) arrived our waitress was lovely drinks was good we arrived about 8:40 seated our order was taken the place wasn’t busy in which I’m trying to understand why appetizers took 1hour to come out the lemon pepper wings was not lemon peppering no flavor at all very bland the Cajun wings wasn’t Cajun just old bay surprisingly that had a light coat of flavor for our baby we ordered chicken tenders and Mac & cheese her tenders barely had flavor and Mac was dry no flavor our kid is a foodie she literally chewed the chicken took it out her mouth threw it on the floor I knew what it was from there then we waited an extra 30 minutes for our food rasta pasta & jerk chicken the pasta needs more seasoning and my husband has yet to taste his plate we took entrees to go so much time spent & it wasn’t a great first impression honestly disappointed it’s like the chef wasn’t cooking with no type of love and their was no type of urgency to get the food out HONESTLY NEED A WHOLE NEW KITCHEN BANISH DI CHEF FI TRUE(APPETIZERS TAKE 15-20 TOPS DEPENDING ON WHAT IT IS) (ENTREES NO MORE THAN 45 THE MOST 1HOUR ) I MYSELF WAS A CHEF & BARTENDER ALSO THEY HAVE TO GET IT TOGETHER 🥱🤦🏿‍♀️
