First I want to say I do really like the luxury food this website sells..... BUT, please be aware that they do sell expired foods on Sale tab. I didn't realize this as it was not so bluntly advertised, so I bought bunch of non sale items and bought 1 sale item. It advertises as Best by Date-- but clearly on the package of the product, it says Expiration date. (bit of false advertisement ;) ) I bought the Premium BARO Doenjang(soybean Paste) with the date printed on the front. I did contact the owner and he was so strong to say it is Best by date, later as I reading the package more carefully in the back label and it says the date printed was expiration date. The owner said the soybean paste is good for many years and it is still good. Yes, I know about soybean paste and it does last a long time but I don't like the fact that I am buying out of date food. He did give me $10 (which was the price I paid). The worst part was that I had order bunch of stuff for my parents as a gift and I was visiting when the package arrived. I wouldn't buy the Sale items for gifts. It was embarrassing If you want to buy expired food for yourself for cheaper, that's up to...
Read moreHey there! I've been shopping at Kim's Market for a while now, and let me tell you, this place is a real gem for two reasons.
First off, you won't find Korean ingredients this good anywhere else. Take their Jukjangyon gochujang, for example. It's so hard to get your hands on, even in Korea! Fun fact: in November 2024, the famous Outstanding in the Field event teamed up with the Jukjangyon brand in Pohang, Korea. How cool is that?
Now, let's talk about their rice. Oh my goodness, it's incredible! Even if you're not a rice connoisseur, you'll taste the difference right away. And guess what? A bunch of Michelin-starred restaurants in Manhattan get their rice from Kim's Market. If that doesn't say something about the quality, I don't know what does!
Sure, Kim's Market might not be Amazon, but that's not a fair comparison anyway. They're a crucial part of our local community, and even if they have a few hiccups along the way, that's just part of growing and improving. I'm going to keep supporting them no matter what because they're just that awesome.
So, there you have it! If you haven't checked out Kim's Market yet, you're seriously missing out. Trust me, you...
Read moreI ordered some fancy rice cakes for my Korean parents and in-laws to celebrate the lunar new year. Both of them have pretty high standards when it comes to rice cakes. However, they were really impressed with the Chang-Uk rice cake I ordered from them. The toppings were high quality, and most importantly, the texture of the rice cake was soft yet bouncy. I was very happy to please them. I was especially happy to please my mother-in-law who has the highest standards of all. Clearly they care about selling good products. I also really appreciate their customer service. UPS caused some trouble to the shipment for my in-laws who live on the West Coast. Even though the problem was not caused by Kim'C market, the CEO Ryan personally called me and my in-laws to explain what happened and sorted everything out. I felt that they care about selling high quality Korean stuff and their customers. If you want to get the good Korean stuff for your kitchen, highly recommend...
