Mugi Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in New York

-Oh God …. Ordered the cake 3.5 hours ahead of time. They said they could make a fresh one but I think I was given the display one (which who knows how long it has been since it was made). I suspected it because the one in display was no longer there when I came back to pick up the cake. They were willing to tricked customers.. so they are not honest maybe it was just the cashier but the owner/manager should train the employees properly. I would be just okay if they said they couldn’t make it within the time frame. I could choose a different cake they just made earlier in the morning. I don’t think I will be going back to this bakery … dishonesty and untrustworthy are just a big turn off for me. -They used very strong food coloring on the cake that I ordered. I couldn’t remove the stain for 2 days from my kids’s hands and little bit on the face. The adults who ate the cake also have the colored food stain on their tongue and hands that took a day to remove it. -The cake tasted too light/flavorless. I love sponge birthday cake because they are not too sweet.. but this one was bland and the strawberry filling didn’t taste fresh. Their cakes and bakery are mostly more expensive than other bakeries. I like the taste of their bakeries but not their cakes. Tried a few cakes before I ordered the birthday cake. I've been going here for several years now, as my business is located just around the corner. I felt that as time wore on, their quality constantly went down. Usually the issues aren't as severe. Mochi that was too hard for the bubble tea, bread wasn't as fresh, drinks too sweet. These were all minor problems. The deal breaker was when I bought a hotdog bun(with scallions), the hotdog was sour, and the bread was tough. They obviously left it out overnight and sold it as fresh in the morning.

Another incident was with their Fish Sandwiches. They are wildly popular, and I usually buy once or twice a week. This time however, I bit into it and it was completely raw. This is absolutely unacceptable. I will no longer be coming to...

I went to this store today and try to placed order for a birthday cake. They gave me a folder contain sample cake pictures with price. Finally I chose a cake. the staff take a look and said she needs to ask if they can make it. If you can’t make it, why put it in your menu? Ok, after she asked, she said they can make it, but with higher price. she told me they just raise the price, because the price tag mark in the menu is old.
