Subzi Bazaar — Local services in New York

Google needs to change the name of the business as it is no longer Patel Brothers; the business has changed hands and the majority of reviews are not relevant for the new ownership SUBZI BAZAR and only serve to mislead consumers. Really miss the owners and prices of Patel Brothers. Ever since it has been acquired by Subzi Bazaar the prices keep escalating. This area offers a variety of Asian grocery stores and Patel Bros. customers shopping greens have started to abandon Subzi Bazaar. Indian shelf stable goods are available online and there remains no further reason to struggle for parking only to pay outrageous prices. The closest parking in the area is 1/3rd of a mile away - that is if you don't want to circle crowded blocks for half an hour. Patel Brothers do price gouging. Cashier pick customer. Plastic bag is banned in NYC from April 1st. Yesterday I went to the store with my own bag but they gave plastic bag to carry. Today I thought they will give bag to carry . So I didn’t took bag from my home. So, today they denied me to give bag though bag is kept on the register. They asked me to buy bag. I asked them why don’t you give me this plastic bag? They said , “ it’s for busy time”. I don’t understand this behavior. If you don’t give bag, don’t give it anyone. great variety of indian food here at very good prices. it's hard enough to find indian food you can prepare at home from microwave meals to spices you can use to prepackaged foods (i love the round fried potato chips you can hook into your finger!) anywhere in new york city but this place has it. fairly easy to get to as well on the train.

what would make this store better? hire pretty young indian girls like air india does air hostesses (they don't take ugly or older girls after age 25). have them wear bollywood style beautiful outfits. let them talk nice to us. that will bring more of us guys...
