After looking high and low ( and I mean in my home state and 3000 miles away LA) for a pair of high quality diamond studs to trade up from my smaller ones purchased many years ago , I remembered my mom ‘s connection to Norman Landsberg ( himself ) as they went to grade school together in the Bronx many many years ago. They actually met in person unexpectedly when we were jewelry shopping for my future son in law’s wedding present - 15 years ago

I had purchased jewelry from this shop in the past but with Covid and my living 200 miles , I hadn’t visited in a few years

I lost my 93 year old mom last December and I was sad to learn just the other day that Mr Landsberg had passed away just a few months ago.

I called the shop on Thursday and worked with Gail exclusively and remotely on Thursday late afternoon and chose my earrings ! She handled everything from then on - from sending me photos , facilitating the change of settings - the expedited shipping - all ! We texted snd spoke by phone and as promised, my earrings arrived today -, Saturday! Less then 48 hours from my first phone call to Gail . They are gorgeous and I choose to believe they were sitting in that safe just waiting for me !

These earrings were intended to commemorate a milestone birthday this past July which I celebrated only with my husband and 2 Yorkies. My family is spread out from Los Angeles to Australia and it was my first bday without my mom

After working 7 days per week snd almost as many nights since the pandemic dealing with clients facing divorce , custody and domestic violence, it was wonderful to receive such a special gift to honor my rather isolated birthday. When I was searching for a wedding band I knew my bride to be wanted a carousel ring studded with diamonds. So I walked up and down 47th Street and each jeweler recommended against that particular ring because they insisted the studs would eventually fall out. When I visited Norman Landsberg he was the only Jeweler that guaranteed his work and personally told me that he will replace the studs free of charge should any fall out. Bought the bands and wedding ring from him and sure enough, the studs started falling out. Twice I brought the rings to him and he stood by his word and replaced the studs at no charge. Then we moved to Connecticut, and we stopped wearing the rings because the studs kept falling out. Because we were no longer living in Manhattan 18 months went by before I could return to the city. I dropped the rings off and when I went to pick them up he said it would be $800. And when I informed him what he promised me about the studs he replied that he would never have said that to me. So twice he replaced diamonds at no charge and then it was like we never met and he never said what he said. I showed him the receipts for our purchase but he denied saying what he did. So neither my wife or myself have worn the rings for years. We paid a lot of money for the rings based on his word, and we got screwed. This is just our experience and wanted to note...

I’d highly recommend Norman Landsberg if you’re looking for a solid diamond buying experience. I had never purchased any jewelry in my life prior to buying an engagement ring for my fiancé. I was hesitant to enter a shop in the diamond district knowing that almost everyone acts like a typical salesman, throwing themselves at you looking to make a sale. But that definitely wasn’t the experience I had with Norman Landsberg.

I went with the recommendation of a friend who mentioned his experience was also a very positive one. I worked with Stella while there and she was very welcoming at all times. She worked with me and my budget and never tried to push me towards a more expensive diamond just to collect more revenue. She was honest, transparent and very attentive, detail oriented and personable. Even when I wasn’t physically at the shop she was very responsive to emails or texts.

Norman Landsberg has been in business for a very long time and that’s the case for a good reason. It’s a family business and Norman at his age still shows up to work. I admire the work ethic of everyone there and am absolutely looking to purchase the wedding bands at...
