I recently stayed at Club Quarters for the first time ever and I have to say that I am a fan, and plan on staying with Club Quarters for my future travels. Even considering becoming a CQ Rewards member. I booked my stay through a third party website which usually works great but sometimes I do run into issues because of this I usually call to verify after booking my flight but I was unable to this time as I was in mid flight. Due to this my first stop when arriving in New York City at 8am was to stop by the hotel to verify that my reservation is intact and good to go. Honestly I am glad I took this step. When I approached the front desk I advised I understood I was far too early for check in but would like to just verify that my reservation is in the computers. Joanne, who was the representative at the front desk, searched and advised that she did not see my reservation. After explaining how I booked she advised me she requested I forward the booking email and advised she would look into it for me. While I waited she directed me to the restrooms and coffee bars (very much needed as I had a long day of exploring ahead of me lol). After a short time Joanne advised me that she was able to see what caused the issue and located my reservation. After asking if I had in bags to check she verified the check in time, apologized for the inconvenience and if I needed an earlier check in to come back around noon to see if the room was available. After arriving back around noon I was greeted by Joel, who I believe is apart of the management team. Joel reassured me that Joanne had passed along the information regarding my booking and he would be able to get my room set up, even allowing for early check in with no fee due to the inconvenience. After a couple of minutes (the hotel had become increasingly busy) Joanne came and retrieved me from the waiting area to advise that my room was ready, and Joel came over and apolof again for the inconvenience. Throughout this whole process I felt appreciated and welcomed in Club Quarters. The due diligence to ensure my room was booked and ready was throughly appreciated. The whole hotel was clean, and the room was spotless. Being from Texas the room was small but expected and actually perfect for me as a solo traveler... oh and the complimentary bottles of water came in clutch for and after those long hours of exploring NYC on foot. The next morning at check out I was greeted again by Joanne's amazing energy, we spoke briefly about my stay and about the Dave Chapelle show that I attended the night before. Overall I would say that my experience with this location was 5 stars all around. The people being the true standouts! The hotel and bed was comfy and the location is easily walkable to Times Square and subway lines. I will definitely look into staying at this location upon my...
Read moreI got a Superior room for 3 nights. Was a great price! The room had plenty of space. I was going to use booking.com to reserve my stay. Instead I did it directly through their site as I am familiar that all hotels in NY have a security deposit. Booking didn’t not have the amount listed of the security deposit but they do for almost all the others. I checked Trip Advisor & Expedia also and read reviews. Some people said they didn’t have to pay one? So I went to their site and couldn’t find it listed. I picked a room that said there were no surprise fees or taxes. My trip was kind of last minute and I’m the type of person where I’d like to have everything paid for in advance. And because of Covid I had a very strict budget as this trip was very sudden. I get here and apparently my payment wasn’t received and I had to pay $50 a night for the security deposit. I know it’s assumed that you have to pay a security deposit as I mentioned before but the fact that it was not stated how much it would be in the room details and it said no surprise fees or taxes, I was highly annoyed. It has been sometime since I came to New York but never has it been $50 a night. If that were the case, if I was staying longer my security deposit would be almost the same price as my stay. I expected because of Covid prices would be great so I over looked an extra expense cause of the description for the room and one would think they would want people to stay and do as much as possible to encourage people to come out to the city. However the inconvenience cut into my budget. I paid the extra $150 but now I’m stuck in my hotel cause that money is no longer available for me to spend until once I leave. This was such a big inconvenience for me. The hotel must and should state on their site if not in the booking process how much the security deposit is for your stay. This is why I gave it a 3 star. Convenience & hospitality is key! Especially with Covid as many people face the inability to travel and are in fear to. One other thing is I wished they at least had a small shop to get things like toiletries and snacks. They had literally nothing to do or to pay attention to other than the lobby. This made being stuck in my room even worse because there wasn’t anything to do at the hotel. You have to go out and...
Read moreStayed there for three nights last week (March 2023) and was utterly satisfied with the service by the exceptional hotel staff.
I switched room just a few hours after checking-in because the room I'd been assigned to was incredibly noisy (even by the NYC standard). In a rush to switch to another room, I left some of my important personal belongings (a book that meant a lot to me personally, a folder with important documents inside and a substantial amount of cash) in the bedside drawer. I only found that I'd left the items there 3 DAYS afterwards, and was expecting little when I asked the hotel reception to look for the items (who would have believed that you can find these things 3 days after leaving the room in a busy hotel in NYC?)
But the hotel staff went out of their way to track down these items and handed them to me just a few hours before I flew out of the city (including all the cash)! I can't thank enough Raquel, Ivanka, Justin and Ivory for their help and service and truly making my day.
To be honest, the hotel needs a bit of improvement. Some rooms seem to be really noisy even by NYC standards (partly due to the rickety and thin windows), and the second room I stayed in the hotel had no refrigerator or microwave, both of which existed in a 3-star hotel room I'd previously stayed. But the hotel also has many perks, including a free water dispenser in every floor and free coffee/tea/hot water served on the ground floor. It's close to most major attractions and the neighborhoods around the hotel seems to be relatively safe. And more than anything else, all the hotel staff members I met were exceptionally professional, helpful and friendly, and for this reason alone I think this hotel is worth staying. I'd definitely come back next time I...
