LMZ Nails & Spa — Local services in New York

I have been going here for a few months Mary and Maria (the hispanic one) are the only nail techs that know how to actually make nails good, they’re very skilled and pay close attention to detail. However, this place is filled with old white women who will demand them both even when they’re in the middle of doing your nails. It is clear that they prefer their patronage over younger clients like myself, because they will stop midway through a service and give you off to the other nail techs (that not to be mean are not nearly as skilled as them) but if i’m paying $70 for dip powder and a simple design. I would want the nails to not be bumpy, and not get big “bubble” nails, and even for the nail art lines to connect. The nail techs should to know their expertise and let me know if they’re not skilled enough to do a design rather than redo it 3 times, (and I just gave up after the 3rd try) waste both of our times and just to just deliver a horrid design on my nails, I am not a picky person I let the tech know multiple times that it was alright if they couldn’t do french or any part of my design, and I would’ve appreciated if he could’ve just asked if I wanted a solid color, but instead he insisted he knew what he was doing and gave me lopsided french nails. I would say this is one of the better salons in the area, and would recommend this salon if you’re able to get Mary for the whole session and not let yourself be handed to...

First time going there. No appointment. I waited less than 15 minutes. The owner saw me first. She pulled out the seat for me and gave me a bottle of water. They DO charge to soak your nails if you got them done else where. The owner started doing my nails. Moisturized my cuticles and she wasn't cheap with the oil. She took her time and then someone else took over, she also took her time. Then when she put on the nail polish after 2 coats she asked me if I wanted a third.. I didn't see anything wrong with it so I said no and she said a 3rd would look better so she did it and it did look better. They were very nice. It's a tiny salon buuuuut they have 450 colors for powder and almost the same for gel. The work wasn't rushed. The staff was above and beyond cordial and attentive. Oh! Zero stars! I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received at your salon. Despite spending a total of four hours, including a deluxe pedicure and gel X tips, I was not met with the quality of service I expected. I arrived at the salon at 12:00 PM this afternoon and was not finished until 4:10 PM. While the two women who provided my pedicure and nail services were courteous and professional, the overall experience was disappointing. I had anticipated a more thorough and satisfying service, and I believe that my time and money were not well-spent $110 dollars later...
