I’m sharing this review not to spread negativity, but to offer an honest reflection of my experience with this Pilates studio because I wish someone had told me what I’m about to say.
Unfortunately, my time here was not what I hoped for. As a Caribbean woman, I walked in with excitement to explore Pilates, only to feel overlooked, uncomfortable, and ultimately unwelcome. The studio was predominantly white and Asian, and although I say that not to judge anyone, it was clear that anyone outside of that mold wasn’t truly embraced.
I paid $550 for a package that left me feeling emotionally and physically disconnected. My first instructor was difficult to understand, and I felt lost and unsupported during the session. After that, I called to request a refund (even offering to forgo the cost of that first class), but I was told they do not do refunds no empathy, no compromise.
So I stayed and continued the sessions, but the energy never changed. I ended up missing my final session after calling to cancel 3 hours in advance — and again, I was met with a cold, passive-aggressive tone and told, “There’s nothing we can do.” No understanding. No flexibility. Just rules.
That said, Tiffany, one of the instructors, was the one bright spot in this entire experience. She was kind and professional. But even with her, I never left feeling energized or renewed and I never felt truly seen.
This experience left me feeling like this space only fully welcomes you if you fit into a certain racial or cultural box. If you’re not white or Asian, I’d advise you to consider how you might be received here.
We are all human. We all bleed red. No matter what we look like or where we come from, we all deserve kindness, respect, and a space to feel safe in our bodies. That’s not what...
Read moreI signed up for the intro offer of $50 for two classes. I completed both classes and will probably not return for any more.
When you arrive, you have to check in on the iPad. The front desk barely greets you. They don’t acknowledge that it’s your first class or give you any instructions. Like yes girl give me nothing.
I’ve taken many reformer Pilates classes before. But even then, both instructors I’ve taken classes with at this studio were very hard to follow and understand. You can tell that a lot of other people in the class are confused as well. Neither instructor ever offered any modifications even when people in the class are struggling. The moves would vary from extremely advanced to way too easy without the proper amount of resistance. If you’ve never taken Pilates before I can see how you would think the class is challenging, but for me personally it felt all over the place. Also, the instructors can get very snappy and borderline raise their voice at you to keep doing a move even if you’re trying to explain that you literally can’t lol.
I wanted to find a more affordable option for Pilates but at this point I would rather pay more for a better instructed class. I recommend going to Sweet Stretch on bell...
Read moreI was searching for a place to do Pilates through ClassPass when I discovered Lady Life Pilates. I was nervous about being a newcomer and unsure of how I would be received. To my surprise, my experience was quite pleasant; there was no awkwardness at all. The instructor, Jinjin, was very helpful throughout the class, guiding me into the correct positions and challenging me appropriately. The space itself was aesthetically pleasing with lots of plants and large windows bringing in plenty of sunlight. The class size was small, just four people, which allowed for personalized attention and useful tips for everyone. It was my first time there, but I would definitely return to...
