You won't find parking that's right by the entrance but within 1-3 minute walk. As of Winter 2024, they've installed new checkout machines. Staff is very nice and available if you need help.
I haven't tried their outdoor return window recently because it used to be out of service often. The Auburndale location on Francis Lewis Blvd/25 Ave has a dependable drop off kiosk you can access with a library card - even when library is closed.
If there's a specific book you're looking for, check their website. You can submit a request and QPL will transfer your book to any Queens library for pick-up. You'll get an email confirmation when the book is ready and you'll have 7 days to pick it up. The books will be at a specific shelf for reservations. The books will be wrapped in paper/rubber band with your card number and last name. You will need to have the same library card you used online to submit the request - to check the book out.
The library is such an important part of our community. They become cooling centers in the hot summers, offer free food programs for kids and a safe space...

On work: The wifi is reliable so bringing a laptop and connecting is recommended. The tables/facilities are clean. The room is generally quiet and the walls insulate you from the outside traffic. The library has a free scanner, printer, and computers available if needed as well. I frequently see students working on home, adults working on computers, and parents bringing toddlers to the library(they have a small play corner for toddlers).
Relaxed Environment: The air condition is almost always working so it's never too hot or too cold. They have two bathrooms available to the public, an events room and other activities open to the public. The staff are incredibly friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. They even offer exam proctoring services free of charge. Moreover, the people that frequently visit the library are friendly and never cause any trouble.
Overall 10/10 place to visit, hang-out or just...
Read moreI moved to the neighborhood awhile ago and was looking for a place to study and do some work on my computer. I walked by the library a few times and one day I decided to check in out. This library is not a fancy one but it has everything that I need. A quiet and cozy environment for me to work on my stuff and the stuff here are friendly. I also took a Korean class from the library and it was so fun! I met a few friends from the class and everyone is so nice. I hadn't been in a library since I graduated from college and I didn't know its such a great resource. I really appreciate to have a place like this in the neighborhood. I'd recommend to have a water dispenser for hot and cold water so sometimes people can make their coffee or hot coco while reading their newspaper or studying for their exams. Thank you for...
