Used to love this particular Met Food @ first. However, it is soo important that you check expiry dates ON EVERYTHING! Purchased a Cook's Ham shank. When I got it home, put it in the fridge. The very next day, unwrapped the ham. IT WAS COMPLETELY RANCID. The next day when I went to return it for being RANCID, WITH THE RECEIPT, the store staff tried to say that 'it was my fault that the ham was rancid'. The staff there also is very rude and intolerant if you do not speak their rendition of the Spanish language. This review is very late, but it is never too late to tell the truth about a deplorable business. Here's the thing about this Met Food on Lafayette Avenue and White Plains Road, if you are not of Spanish language heritage, you are treated like caca! So this Met Food practices language and cultural discrimination. All too often stores like THIS Met Food think that it is ok to discriminate. I don’t like that this supermarket claims to have a policy where they have to take your bag when you enter, but they only seem to take the bags of certain people while others can walk around with their backpacks and other large bags without being stopped. Also, if they are going to take your bags when you enter then they should not leave those bags unattended. When I went to collect my bag there was no one there to give me my bag and I was able to just grab it myself without anyone stopping me or questioning me.
