Protect your child and look for another school if you don’t want him/or her to be bullied! Horrible staff and deans. They are really not helpful if I have to go in this school just for something important , the way how they talk with you is really not classy or helpful! Yesterday the dean said on the phone at the front desk she’s busy and asked why I wanna talk with her, I said it’s private, she’s coming out with her breakfast holding in her hand chewing her food and said “what’s up?” Excuse me? We are not friends! I don’t understand how low class people can work in the school with this kinda attitude. My other child’s in a different school, maybe they need to learn from them how to deal equally with kids and their parents, not depends on where I’m from and what nationality I am! My child been bullied from last year I tried to report they ignored my email . Then I wrote another person if principal don’t answer . But nodody answer ! After I went to the school and said they gonna talk with this 2 child 2 months ok ,now my daughter don’t wanna go the the school bully starts again! How is that possible kids can go the the class where she’s not supposed to be ? This girl just walk in to my daughter class seat down and laugh ? But I’m more worry because this student hurt physically my daughter friend couple of months ago. She made up lies and stories really mentally have some serious problem . And nobody don’t do anything! But if I stand up for my daughter they call me in text the only way I talk with them now of Course they wrote in different way how that talk before ! When I tried to report other dean said this case been handled what do I want ? I said this girl picking on my daughter again . Nothing but when I protect my daughter they wanna suspend her! It’s been from last year I have to drive her to the school and afternoon going to pick her up! Hope our experience keep you far away from this school I don’t think you wanna put yourself and your child in the same situations. How is it possible shaking they shoulder and you really don’t feel safe your child there. Only one teacher Mrs. Blau for art she’s amazing and supports my daughter’s education with all her power (I have no idea how she can work in this school) and we had great teachers too for history, ELA, etc , but after pandemic started this place become a nightmare . Can’t wait my child...
Read moreTeachers for most part are friendly and helpful. I wish I could say the same about the deans, you're better off going to the ap than the deans. Students are okay, definately better than most of the students in the building we are housed in.
If you are a heavy academic learner, this school isn't the best place for it. We often have interruptions in the school to have celebrations, plays for our new theather class, 2 talent shows, etc. While it is all nice, many students do have a regents test to take as well as a AP test to take at the end of the year. With heavy classes such as the science department and even the math department, all the time in class is needed.
If you are a fast learner hoping to graduate early, please donot come to this school. They have "senior only" classes that they would refuse to mix unless you are one of the lucky few to recieve those classes undetected. As a person who only needs gym, government, economics, and ELA (though my threather class already completed my ela requirements) I still have to come to school for those classes that I could had taken in my earlier years of highschool. Fortunately we are slowly gaining more AP classes, making it possible to recieve free college credits if you pass the exam.
It's a hit or miss school. If you are looking for academics, somewhere else maybe better. If you're looking for a generally easy year, choose the right friends and then the school...
Read moreI am currently a freshman student at Millenium Art Academy, but personally its an alright school. The teachers are great and really helpful too. I know it's a high school, so there's a ton of teens who act more like children. I at least made friends with teens who have the same interests as me but also help me with my academics whenever it's needed. The school is pretty small, but not quite clean....That's really an issue with how maintainace is kept.
Overall, its mostly a 50/50 school. Either you like it or feel like transferring, is all up to what your child thinks. Parents, maybe it would be great if you attended an open house to see how MAA is and state your opinions about it. Thanks for reading this review of...
