I can't say enough about how kind the folks at Mexicana were to me during a difficult time. I was trying to get my elderly dad home to Brooklyn, from a rehab in Queens, and the ambulette services all refused to let me pay with a card or cash ("insurance only!"). My dad can't walk, so I needed a driver who would be patient as an aide and I struggled to get my dad into and out of the car. Not only that, I needed a driver who would allow me to run up to his apartment and grab his wheelchair. An uber driver would've put us out on the street! I explained my needs to the dispatcher and they sent a driver who was so patient and helpful. Could not have been more kind. The dispatchers tell you how long you have to wait and they're pretty accurate. If you're in Manhattan, they'll let you know if the wait is over 30 minutes. Armando provides exceptional customer service! As with Uber and other car service, some drivers give 100% and others 80%. If a driver quotes a price that is higher than what you paid before, explain the situation and call the dispatcher. Drivers aren't perfect.
