My mom recently passed away and her wishes were to be cremated and to just have a church service. The church service was paid for and arranged on a Saturday morning at 11 AM.
During the mass, there was another function taking place in the basement of the church where loud, thumping music was blaring. It was evident and pervasive throughout my mom’s entire memorial service. It was disrespectful and distracting. Many attendees thought it was a car outside with blasting music and were quite surprised to find out it was coming from the basement of the church.
Also, the priest conducting the mass shirked at the idea that my mom had passed away 5 weeks ago and that we were doing the service now with her cremains. He even went so far as to say “oh she died a long time ago. She’s been on ice for that long”. Really??? Inappropriate to say the least.
If our lady of Grace is going to take money to provide a private mass for a deceased family member, the least they could do is limit the other activity that is going on in the church or at least...
Read moreOpposite of Grace. The phone clerk asked me if I knew that I was calling a church?" I once again explained that I don't know many people and was seeking trustworthy desperate help because my 10 day old baby and my major random surgery self have been constantly HVACing water from where we stay. I did not ask for money. The Priest came on the phone and explained that his church could not reach out to anyone who MIGHT be a plumber,, in a very rude tone. He could have even been more polite or understanding of the situation. I have never called up churches in my life seeking help, never even asked for help but when someone has asked me for help I have never been one to reply so condescendingly. You are a church. You have strength in numbers. You alone have 20 reviews which speaks volumes about your attendance.... Why could you not just ask around? You're the ONLY congregation that flatly rejected my plea. The ONLY one. No point in belonging to a church that's missing the...
Read moreWhat a terrible experience. The uneducated teachers took some sort of joy in publicly humiliating the more sensitive students. For example, my sister correctly answered a question about DNA and the teacher said, "See, I knew someone not too smart would get it". I got sent to the office because my natural hair was "too wild", I picked a name one year for a secret Santa and the girl said, out loud, "oh great, the poor girl! I'm not getting anything good". The teacher's reply, " Well she's right". From lunatics like Miss D'Emic who refused to pronounce your name right & tried to get students to take her shoes on and off to morons like Miss Porcaro who insisted babies were born feet first and that's how doctors pulled them out, it's a miracle i wound up in honors classes and not remedial ones in high school. Thank god I did a lot of learning and I'm an autodidact. There's a word I'm confident no one in that...
