Tandir Rokhat Restaurant Review
Rating: ⭐⭐ (2/5 stars)
Disappointing Experience with Uzbek Cuisine
I recently ordered delivery from Tandir Rokhat through Seamless, as the restaurant doesn't offer their own delivery service. Be prepared to pay significantly more than your food bill - delivery fees, service charges, and regulatory fees can easily add 30% to your total, even if you live nearby. The restaurant does offer pickup as an alternative.
The food arrived within an hour, but as someone familiar with traditional Uzbek cuisine, I found the experience largely disappointing. I ordered a variety of dishes including two types of samsa (meat pastries), chicken kebab, tandir kebab, Asian bread (supposedly tandoor-baked), and pilaf.
What I Ordered:
The Good: Samsa (Meat Pastries) - The only dish that felt authentic and was prepared well. These were properly seasoned and had the right texture.
The Disappointing: Tandir Kebab - The most expensive dish on my order, but it had an off-putting sour taste that made it inedible. I ended up throwing it away completely. Rice Pilaf (Pilav) - Overly oily and overcooked, lacking the delicate balance that makes this dish special. Chicken Kebab - Overcooked and dry. Asian Bread - Despite claims of being tandoor-baked, this tasted like stale supermarket bread that had been sitting on the shelf for days.
Final Thoughts
The majority of dishes were either too oily, overcooked, or had strange off-flavors that raised concerns about food quality. For a restaurant specializing in Uzbek cuisine, the execution fell well short of expectations.
Recommendation: Unless you have a specific dish you've tried here before and know you enjoy, I'd suggest looking elsewhere for authentic Uzbek food. The high delivery costs combined with inconsistent food quality make this a poor value...

I recently visited Tandir Rokhat, an authentic Uzbek restaurant, and I must say, it was a letdown from start to finish. The atmosphere was dim and uninviting, which didn't contribute to a welcoming dining experience. As soon as we stepped in, we were met with lackluster customer service. It took an unreasonable amount of time for anyone to acknowledge our presence, and when we were finally seated, our waiter seemed indifferent and rushed. We had to wait ages to place our order, and our server rarely checked in on us, leaving us parched and hungry for far too long. When the food finally arrived, I had high hopes based on the restaurant's reputation, but those hopes were quickly dashed. The plov was overcooked and lacked the robust flavors one would expect from an authentic dish. The kebabs were dry and chewy, lacking the marinated depth that is characteristic of good Uzbek cuisine. Additionally, my friend's somsas were bland and the sauce served alongside them was watery and uninspired. Overall, the quality of food fell far below what I had anticipated, and it felt like a missed opportunity to showcase the rich culinary traditions of Uzbekistan. With all the fantastic options available in the area, I can’t imagine why anyone would choose to return to Tandir Rokhat. I left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed, both with the food and the service. I won't be recommending this place to anyone looking for an authentic Uzbek...

In March 2025 I stopped by Tandir Rokhat to buy some food for home and to taste a few items for review. The place is small, with a primitive interior, cheap utensils, and paper plates. It has a food smell that soaks into clothes if you choose to dine in. IMO, Tandir Rokhat should be considered as a takeout only. The food left mixed impressions with some dishes being excellent but others - far from so.
Overall, I may recommend Tandir Rokhat as a takeout place for excellent tandir samsa, manti, baklava, and perhaps lulya kebab.
Food ordered Samsa Tandoori - delicious! Tasted great and fresh, plenty of meat and flavor. Belyash - it was pretty good. I wish it was made right on order rather than reheated but it was still good. Manti - excellent! Juicy, thin dough, flavor tasty filling. These are huge! Pumpkin Samsa - pass on this. Under salted and lacking flavor. Lulya Kebab with Potatoes - good, flavorful, but over salted. Side of roasted potatoes with caramelized onions was excellent. Chicken Kebab - tasteless :( Pass on this. Kimchi Salad - ok Carrot Salad (morkovcha) - too much vinegar and too little flavor. Eggplant Salad - ok. This just a mix of roasted eggplants with the "carrot salad" + few roasted peppers. Baklava - perfect! Fresh, soft, how it should be! Fatir with Butter - it was ok, but far from what...
