Pata Market — Local services in New York

I've been meaning to check this place out sooner but happened upon it today and freaking loved it. They have a bunch of Thai snack items and groceries but the main attraction is the pre-packed goods, I happened to roll in about 11am to be greeted with new replenishments.....I shopped....hard haha xD

A must is everything and anything pandan, which they're loaded with here, trust me you need this in your life. Highly recommend their kuih lapis, tastes super fresh here. They have pandan crepe, pandan pudding, pandan custard buns. In addition to the kuih lapis, we bought their banana sticky rice, mini pandan sticky rice snacks (with roasted mung beans for crunch), chicken crepe dumplings, bbq pork with sticky rice (so good!!!!), basil squid and a few Thai grocery items. The pre-packaged stuff range from $3 (snacks, desserts) to $10 max for meals. The food is cooked fresh (was still warm) but they also have refrigerated meals and goods as well as many items you can request to be made fresh from their menu at the counter.

The aunty at the food table was super helpful and recommended a lot of things, which I'm grateful for. There's heaps of desserts in another refrigerator too, frozen or ready to eat. The space is pretty tight, like 'one-way pedestrian' kinda tight so don't come in large groups or with a stroller. I've saw many Thai customers come in while I was their, so I'm going to assume it's pretty legit.

First time there and buy many things Many people mention that things are not expensive here. I was excited and buy things I want, my mistake was , the nam tok noodle packages, I didn’t ask the price before paying ( its 6.50/pack) 120 g. (No price label on this one) I find out the price from receipt later And walking around to the other supermarket ( the US Supermarket) They have many thai cooking things And also this noodle , same same thing the price is $3.99 . (While I pay $6.50/pack) Things can be different price, understand that But $2.50 /pack that is a lot.

Everything that I bought,I found in the US Supermarket And everything is cheaper , at least 1 $

Maybe the others bought only the ready to eat and thai desserts here I...

The employees at this place like to watch, follow and peak behind the counters while people are choosing their foods to purchase. Leave people alone and let them shop in peace 😡. The sad part about this is that they don't even try to hide it. It's so obvious from the time you walk in to the time you leave the store. I honestly think its the management that is training the cashiers and workers behind the counter to do this. This is a very rude practice and you will discourage willingly paid customers from even shopping here. Note to the manager: Please change your policies in regards to this. This behavior has been going on for quite a while. I remember the previous owners sugar club they never behaved in...
