my son sees Dr. Jonathan Cho for his ortho-k lenses. i'm too lazy to post any reviews on line, but I decided to rate dr. cho bc I don't want to say "you're the best eye doctor i've worked with so far" to his face. I don't do stuff like that as an asian old fart.
i have to say dr. cho is the most patient and kindest eye doctor we've seen so far. he's very thorough when he examines eyes and answers questions. and he has this warm and caring feel about him which helps with ortho k-related anxiety if you have any.
my son was nervous about putting contacts in his eyes for the first time, and dr. cho took his time to help my son relax and praised him a lot when he finally succeeded. every appt my boy has, dr. cho's very supportive and praises him a lot. come to think of it, it's kind of funny that his praises seem so genuine. he really did seem happy that my boy was doing well in terms of taking care of his eyes and contacts. he seemed almost... proud?
anyway, other staff at pearle are kind and helpful too. i kept asking really stupid questions when applying for CreditCare (credit card for medical needs) bc i didn't know creditcare worked like regular credit cards. the young lady who was helping me with the application didn't seem annoyed at all even though she had to repeat herself like 5 times. she just dumbed it down and repeated over and over until I finally understood it.
so yeah, all in all, I'm happy I found dr. cho and his staffers. i'll continue to work with them for any eye care needs.
oh and i strongly recommend ortho-k, too. it's a bit pricey but it really helps if your child has myopia and it gets worse every year. my son's vision is the same as 8 months ago which never happened before wearing ortho k. and not having to deal with glasses every day is a big plus. so... yay...
Read moreOptometrist was the only person who was nice and professional here in Pearle Vision. When I bought the frame for my glasses, no one mentioned to me that it would not really fit for asian nose. I found discomfort when I got it and tried it for 2 weeks. When I came back to adjust the frame, thatâs when they informed me itâs not fit for asian nose. Haha not so funny when I spent $500 on it already. Another thing. I ordered photo-chromatic lens but they also didnât let me know I have options for tint color for the lenses (gray or brown). I would have definitely gotten brown but they ordered it gray without asking me. Now about contact lenses, they ordered biweekly one for trial (they used to get daily ones for trial). I didnât know how to take care of them for 2 weeks so I asked the technician. He was so impatient. He basically just told me to go to pharmacy and buy. Buy what? The entire staff (except the optometrist) were rude and...
Read moreMy original comment was deleted. Rudest staff ever. Make sure you review your receipt for what they are charging you after they quote you a price--they lied to me thinking I couldn't do basic math. Also, they yelled at me because they charged me for an extra service that I didn't ask for -- you never yell at your customers. I called for my annual eye exam and they charged me for contact lens exam when I didn't ask for that and wasn't buying contacts. Then they kept trying to sell me contacts when I didn't want them. I told them I called for an annual eye exam and they said because they saw I wore contacts they did the contact exam instead of what I asked so I had to pay. Infuriating. The doctor is fine but the staff is greedy--no integrity and has way too...
