I’d first like to say this is by far the best Pho spot in all of NYC. I’ve been to many spots, and they consistently have the best broth, with so much depth and flavor. I am especially a big fan of the spicy pho. I haven’t tried many other things on the menu other than the pho, but the bbq beef banh mi is also really good for dine in specifically, since they don’t travel too well. Other than the food, the staff is usually super sufficient and friendly for the most part. What I would say is give yourself an hours time before they close. Do not go past 8:15 ish, or you will feel rushed by the staff. I think the worst thing staff can do to paying customers is start busting your table while you’re still eating. I’ve worked in the food industry for several years in my youth, and this was something that was always prohibited because it truly destroys your experience. Last night, we got there at about 8:30 and were seated right away. We also ordered right away because we always get the same thing. The food took a bit longer than usual to come out, which was understandable because they get tons of take out orders. We got our food at about 8:47, and as soon as 9 pm hit (when the store closes), we felt the pressure to leave. It started with the check being dropped off so they can close the register which is fine. Then they asked if they can take the sauces, which again was fine. But a few minutes after, they took my husbands bowl and plates since he was done, so I was there eating alone. It couldn’t have gotten any more uncomfortable at that point, and so I left without completely finishing my pho. There were so many other tables they could’ve busted and out the seats up for etc. instead of putting that much focus on ours. It was also not one person, but three that we felt pressure to leave from. The boss was also sitting across from us, which didn’t seem to make a difference in their behavior toward us. We hardly even got a goodbye as we exited. The first thing both my husband and I said when we left is that we’ll never dine in there around closing time again. We generally avoid going anywhere if they’re about to close for this very reason, but if there will that much of a rush, perhaps the hours should be adjusted to reflect that. Like last seating should be 8:15? And take out can be til 9? I don’t know. It’s just a really bad feeling, especially when it’s a spot you go to regularly and always tip well and recommend to everyone. If the food weren’t as great as it is, we’d probably never...
Read moreI must have ordered from Pho Che three days in a row since first dining out from here. I was looking to eat Vietnamese food and Pho Che was someplace new on my food app. It had decent enough reviews so I decided to try it. What sold me was that they offered banh mi sandwiches. I’ve only ever eaten it when my friend’s mom made it. I ordered a summer roll, also tried the spring rolls, pork chops, rare steak and beef ball pho, bbq pork banh mi, and Thai iced teas. Thai iced tea is delicious. Might be a little too sweet for some. I do not recommend the spring rolls because it looks as though it was bought from the frozen section of a supermarket and fried. If you’re someone who eats Vietnamese food regularly, you’ll know that it wasn’t authentic spring rolls from Vietnamese restaurant just by looking at the skin of the spring roll. The pork chop was mediocre. The sauce that comes with the pork chop was more spicy than sweet. The summer roll was just all right but the peanut sauce it came with was awesome! I slathered it on the summer roll just to give it flavor. The pho was tasty too. I should have maybe not ordered the beef with beef ball. It wasn’t properly balanced as it was just too much meat. The soup however, is very flavorful. Lastly, I must praise the bbq pork banh mi. Everything in the sandwich was well balanced including flavor. It has to be eaten on the spot though. I wouldn’t wait to save half for a later time to eat. The flavor just isn’t the same. But yes, the sandwich is equivalent to a Subway footlong. My best combination is a banh mi sandwich with a...
Read moreAmazing Vietnamese Cuisine. I have been there several time and finally decided to write the review. Wow get the summer roll. So fresh and refreshing and packed to the brim with healthy greens. The peanut dipping sauce is amazing. The spring rolls are also very good with the fish sauce to dip into. I have tried the house special pho last time and it was amazing. The stock was hearty and fatty and left your lips with a glaze of collagen. You know what I mean if you know what I mean This time we sat outside with a stroller and the seating was nice. We ordered the spring and summer rolls. We decided to order the bbq beef and bbq chicken platters. I tried the chicken which was very good but the beef was awesome. Wish there was a little more beef but the portion size was a very good value. The salad had a homemade dressing on it. That was very good. The vermicelli noodles were super fresh I want to thank Pho Che staff for asking if I wanted cilantro. I like many people honk cilantro has a chemical taste. My wife’s dish had a mountain of cilantro which she was very happy about Both dishes also came with a side of pho stock. Delicious We also ordered Vietnamese coffee and a cold green tea. The coffee was super delicious and strong and sugary! I like how they use take out containers so if you can’t finish you already have it wrapped up to take home. A++ will go back look at the photos they speak...
