Me and my fiancée go out to eat ramen pretty regularly and she is currently pregnant. This is not a typical spot we go to and had seen that the rating was good and decided we would give it a shot. I don’t think it was a good idea at all. I would have rather went to Mr. KeKe’s Ramen & Dim Sum for a proper bowl of ramen. I ordered a hotpot noodle with a very peculiar tasting broth that I could not put my finger on. It was like someone marinated their feet in hot water after working in construction with a shrimp tempura, fish cakes, vegetable and chicken. Definitely not something I would give to a starving homeless person in a shelter and that says a lot coming from someone like me. My fiancée had miso ramen with some of my noodles in it. I swear I did not put it in there for a picture either! This is real life. Her broth was so salty and had a sweet aftertaste to it at the end too. That probably explains the indistinguishable flavors I was tasting, probably because our food was probably not even prepared properly? I don’t know. I even asked for chili paste and they came back with something that smelled, tasted and looked like sesame oil. I was not even going to go back and forth with the server. Don’t even get me started with that guy either. I don’t know what was worse, his stinking breath when he huffed and puffed when I asked about the dishes they served, his attitude when I said I was not taking the “chili oil” or the food overall. I am only speaking from my own personal, one-time experience but boy this was so garbage I had to tell the internet. Be warned. I put 2 stars because the place looks so much better than it tastes.

The food was good for late night eats. Considering the time we went (11pm), the wait time was not too long at all. I had the spicy tonkotsu ramen, it had a good spice level. The noodles had a nice chew and bounce, definitely loved that. The chashu (3) pieces were soft and tender, had a decent char, nicely seasoned. I just wish the broth was a bit more deep. But also, they added quite a lot of bean sprouts to the ramen. I appreciated the different texture it gave, but it was just a whole lot more than expected, especially for something we didn’t ask for. We had the takoyaki, but it was 4 for $8. It was good though, about 1-3 octopus chunks per ball. The peach tomomasu was so pleasant and nice. The sake piko (calpico with sake) wasn’t bad. But they don’t give you the whole bottle of calpico, just take it to the back and pour it into a wine glass. The service wasn’t bad, just not exceptionally good. We were served and waited on quite efficiently, in and out service.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVERRRRR OH MY GOODNESS!!! Tonight my friend and I went for a quick bite after being at a funeral and were hoping to cheer up! All the chairs were up when We arrived at 856pm and already knew what we wanted to eat when we arrived the server/host JIN told us we couldn't be served we assured him we would be very quick and then he walked away and came back to tell us we could eat but only had 45 min. We sat ordered within the first 5 min after he asked us repeatedly what we wanted to order. Once we ordered he said to us we're closing so you have to pay. I paid and chose to not tip considering the very rude service we had been receiving. He then approached me and said "you need to pay a tip" I told him that we were being rushed to order and eat so I consider this more as a take out and chose not to tip. The food came by 910 and he told us we had 40 min to eat. I asked for a few things such as hot sauce or hot oil and was refused. At 938 he came up to me and said "CUSTOMER YOU MUST FINISH IN 5 min" and gave us to go boxes i made a comment to him and he said "no because no tip" i then said i didn't tip because you have been extremely rude to us since we got here. I asked to speak with a manager and he said no manager was there and walked away. Came back and said the manager wanted my number to call me and I said I will just call tomorrow and he said the manager will not be there tomorrow either. The food was great but this server created the worst experience I think I have ever had in a restaurant in my life. We left with our food at 950 and will never walk through those doors again! I want a refund and will be contacting the restaurant...

I decided to try this place on a whim after studying at Cafe Auburndale, as it’s right next door. The experience started off with a waiter who seemed completely uninterested in his job. We ordered the spicy miso chicken ramen, which was underwhelming at best—not terrible, but certainly nothing to rave about. It’s the kind of meal you’d never crave or bother going back for.

But what really crossed the line was what happened after the meal. I paid my bill and left a standard tip, as I do for all my meals. A few days later, I noticed on my bank statement that they had taken more money for the tip than I authorized. This is absolutely CRIMINAL. I’ve never had an experience like this in my life. I had to dispute the charge with my bank and needed a copy of the tampered receipt. I called the restaurant to request another copy of my receipt, only for them to refuse to comply.

Bad food and bad service I can tolerate, but outright theft is something else entirely. It’s mind-blowing that they think they can get away with skimming money off college students who are already strapped for cash. If they could do this to one I wonder how many other people they have done this too as well. This is beyond unacceptable, and I will NEVER set foot in this...
