The team at Perfect Stride is absolutely one of a kind. I had such a positive experience working with them and am so appreciative for the hands-on, caring, dedicated, and knowledgable treatment they provide for each and every one of their patients.
I tore my ACL and meniscus with a partial MCL sprain playing soccer in June, and had reconstructive surgery in MT in July. Once I returned back to the city, the first place I tried for physical therapy was NYU’s Center for Musculoskeletal Care. The PT that I saw was so impersonal and discouraging that I left upset and in search of someone who could provide the care that I needed. I was then referred to Perfect Stride by a friend’s friend, and I am SO happy that I was because within a month I was walking without crutches, by 2.5 months I could ride a bike again, and by 5 months I was running on a treadmill again all thanks to them.
My PT’s name was Joe Gambino, and he is someone I will always be thankful for. Not only is he exceptional at what he does, but he does it in a way that inspired me to get up early 3-4 times/week and work as hard as I could to get healthy again. Every session was a positive one, even when I hadn’t made as much progress as I would’ve liked, because of his uplifting spirit and encouragement. He understood my individual needs and was extremely knowledgeable about which techniques and exercises I needed in order to get better. He challenged me to explore my knee’s limits and to overcome my own mental blocks so that I could get better. He is such a talented PT and I can confidently assume that anyone who has worked with him will agree with me.
I could go on and on, but the main point is that these guys are the best. If you ever are in need of a physical therapist that will listen to your needs, provide care on the individual level, and help you to get better quickly all while encouraging and keeping a sense of humor along the way, Perfect Stride is a place you should consider. You won’t be disappointed and your body will thank you for giving it the treatment and care it needs! I know where I will be going if I ever am in need of physical therapy in the future. Thank you Joe and the team at...
Read moreI had been nursing a few injuries over the years (knees, shoulders) and acquired a few more after childbirth. Before this, I was a fairly active person, taking boxing classes and conditioning classes at least 5x/wk.
I had severe pain down the length of my spine, starting from the base of my next to my tailbone. I had very limited mobility. And I can tell you, that the physically pain had weighed heavily on my mental well being as well.
I was recommended to Perfect Stride PT by a trusted friend, who is a professional athlete and trainer. I was pleased with how easy it was to set up my first consultation ( insurance verification, paperwork, etc). As a healthcare professional myself, I understand that the front staff is important in making a good impression for the patient, and sets the tone so to speak. The office manager was pleasant, professional, and very responsive.
When I came into my first consultation, I was impressed with the thorough assessment I received. Dan, not only addressed my primary complaint, which I verbalized to him, but also extracted all the other problem areas which I did not really mention to him. In the past, when I went to PTs, they would only address the one body part. Dan takes into account the whole picture - you can tell that he is truly well-versed in anatomy and the dynamics of the body. Dan's therapy approach is very different than any I experienced in the past. Dan (and all the PTs at Perfect Stride) work on the patients one-on-one. You can tell that he is quite passionate about his work and also cares about you and your healing progress.
In a short time, I am virtually pain free and am working towards building my strength up. After a few sessions with Dan, my husband noticed the change in me, and decided to come in for a consultation himself. Little did he know that he was even worse off than me! He has also come a very long way and has drastically improved his range of motion.
Being born and bred New Yorkers, we don't subscribe to bull and wasting our time if we didn't see results!
Thanks Dan and Perfect Stride PT for helping me and my husband recover so quickly and...
Read moreAfter incurring serious injuries from being hit by a vehicle in the mid-2000s, I spent many hours, weeks, and months in physical therapy. The initial treatment was turnstyle-therapy - churning through as many patients as the therapist could treat in a day and filling out associated paperwork. It got me back on my feet and running but left me wanting better and more for my own personal needs.
I managed to run my first of now quite a few marathons since then and never needed therapy again until recently when finally I incurred an injury that truly stopped me from running. I needed a therapist - one that could understand what drives me and what my unique goals are which, for me, means a lifetime of running.
Through my own research then validated by my own doctor's independent referral - I found Perfect Stride Physical Therapy and my incredible therapist Megan.
Megan helped me achieve my short-term goal of starting the race I committed to and setting a plan that would make me successful. Afterwards, we began the real work of recovery spending months with exercises, addressing related nerves and the nervous system, physical manipulation & massage. All the while she taught me more about how our systems connect and bodies move.
Together we got my body healed from the acute injury and then progressed through a "return to run" program. Happily I'm nearing 30 miles/week and able to feel the joy in running again.
I am so grateful for the help Megan and Perfect Stride have provided. I recommend both Megan and the entire practice to anyone who has a physical issue to address - and especially the highest recommendation for any runners out there who want to stay out on the road for miles and...
