I was really looking forward into finally trying smashy burger, I found them on tik tok however, my experience was ruined. I came in and everyone treated me well and was friendly and polite except for the employee in the photo listed below. Before I get into my experience I want to make clear that their smash burger is yummy! Their smash burgers aren’t too thin like some places and it’s nice and crunchy around edges! I got the house sauce smash burger and the regular smash burger with fries. Not only is the food good but the prices are really affordable - $4.99 for a burger and $2.99 for fries! Now, when I got my fries I said to the girl that they were cold and if I could have fresh fries right out the oil, keep in mind I mentioned that to the cashier when she took my order not sure if she relayed the message I doubt it because order was ready fast. Anyway she took back the fries threw them in the garbage rudely and then started to throw away all of the other fries that were there. She never said “sure no problem” or anything she just yelled to the guy to “drop new fries.” She was so bothered by me asking for fresh fries and she wasn’t even the one that had to make new fries. I never said anything, than when I received my order I said “thank you” and she ignored me - just rude as hell for no reason!! I left, ate my food outside and I returned back like 10 minutes later and ordered another single smash burger. As I was waiting in line, I noticed everyone else who go their food and said “thank you” she responded and said “no problem” or “you’re welcome.” After the wonderful gentleman took my order I’m now waiting and he goes up to her and ask for a single smash burger for me and she had the audacity to point to two burgers that were sitting off to the side for as long as the fist time I ordered my first order!! Mind you, everyone got fresh off the grill burgers!! How rude and disgusting, before I could even say anything the gentleman that took my order asked her in an “are you serious?” tone of voice “can I have a fresh one please” and she responded and she looked at him annoyed and said “its hot” I'm like “it’s summer time” like what does that have to do with anything? Then that prompted me to finally say something cause I’m like your own employee or he could’ve been a manager not sure, is seeing your weird rude behavior. I joined in and I said “yeah, I don’t know why she has an attitude” and I’m like “why would you want to give me something that’s been sitting there?” And she responded and said she didn’t have an attitude and that that’s what they’re “supposed” to do. I told her and the employees everything she did this entire time since my first order! She just responded with a bunch of excuses never apologized or took accountability. All of this because I asked for “fresh fries” and it was unnecessary and ridiculous! I have a right to request fresh food, people think you’re suppose to just eat what they give you, no that’ll never be me weather I’m at McDonald’s or a 5 start restaurant I want fresh food! Who the hell wants cold fries?! I watched her treat all the Asian and white people polite and with respect and then she treat me like crap, your own people - it’s just a sad thing to watch! Shoutout to the other employee that put the customer first (me) and didn’t entertain her nonsense! I really appreciate it and I will be returning to the restaurant! I actually planned on doing some content on my tick tok but I didn’t have enough battery which is why I only got like one picture of burger so next time, plus I really enjoyed the smash burger and again food is awesome, and I got my pipping hot fries like I asked for!! Smashy Burger is a GREAT burger place located directly across the street from 14th Street, Union Square in Manhattan. So the location already sets it up for a fun, lively dining experience. As you come in, to your right you'll be able to actually see how the burgers are prepared. There's a glass barrier, so no need to worry about anyone coughing or breathing on your food. It's very clean inside. All the staff where gloves and masks. Something us New Yorkers can appreciate. The grill is kept clean. You can see the employees as they clean it. They get so many orders at one time, consistent cleaning is only right. To the left, there's a metal. Just enough for about I'd say six people (3 couples to eat inside) It's not for sitting and eating, which is o.k. because Union Square is right across the street. The Burgers: The burgers are delicious. Smashy's is definitely using high quality beef for their burgers. You can tell the difference in taste between their meat and the franchise burgers i.e. Wendy' McDonalds Burger King. You can get hamburgers or cheeseburgers and they come in two varieties, Classic or House. Now, Classic is self explanatory. Good burgers or cheeseburgers prepared with mayo, ketchup, onion,pickled. No lettuce or tomatoes. Now, HOUSE burgers are the same, except Smashy's uses their own special made (house sauce) to give the burrger a unique flavor that taste really good. I definitely recommend trying the house burgers. You can a single patty or double. Single patty burgers are 4.99 Cheeseburgers are 5.99 and Double patty burgers are 6.99. You can't go wrong with your selection. They also.sell French fries. Now, I didn't try them, but they look good. They use the shoestring style which I think is a good choice given that the burgers are so thick and juicy. One order of fries and a burger (or two) would definitely fill you up. They have a selection of the popular soda brands or water. Overall, Smashy burgers are delicious, affordable and you can't just have one. As an extra added bonus, there's a camera set up so you can take a selfie and send it out to Smashy Burger locations overseas. Amazing food and value for the money! As a born and raised NY’er, nowadays you rarely see this good of pricing for quality burgers and fries. You have the option of a Classic or House Single Burger or Double Cheeseburger (Classic is Ketchup and Mustard and House is a Mayo Blend). Single is $4.99 and Double is $6.99. The double is the way to go! The wait is minimal and the burgers are TASTY! Honestly, they’re close if not better than Shake Shack and 7th Street Burger and much more affordable. The service and kindness of the staff is also so rare here in NYC. A shoutout to the kind cashier who helped us during our first visit (young lady on Saturday afternoon, 7/26) and to Terrance for checking up on every customer eating there to ensure their visit was going well and if they needed anything.
