Absolutely terrible experience during and after stay. Hotel staff admittedly entered room before check out time and stole items from the room. Attempted to call down and report the issue but was told there was nothing to be done. Spoke to Ashley at the front desk in person who disappeared and never followed up the rest of the stay. Spoke to Mac and another manager today and was laughed at. I finally reached out to Marriott who stated hotels are not liable for theft my employees. I've seen other reviews mentioning theft of items left behind after check out, but we hadn't even checkout out before the took things. Two days later I witness 3 employees dividing up items amongst themselves they'd taken from rooms. Marriott was uninsterested even though I had photos.
Update in response to owner: The requested photos were provided to Marriott Corporate already, and provided to the hotel on 8/31, they day before the hotels public comment stating I hadn't provided them. The two messages from the hotel were ignored, because Marriott Corporate informed me in writing the case had been closed. They have since reopened it and photos were promptly provided. The hotel's public response is misleading.
Updated 09/09/2022: In response to my report of witnessing two employees dividing up phone chargers left in rooms, Mac Ward, came up with the following crazy explanation:
To further explain, the woman you saw handing an item over to the other woman was actually handing it to her supervisor who then placed it in her supervisor bag and brought it down to security as soon as she was done with her duties for the day. I understand how from your perspective this could seem like an issue of theft, but I can assure you after personally speaking to both ladies in this photo, it was simply a misunderstanding. I know this is true as both ladies recalled this moment in time after showing them the photos you took and were able to precisely describe the items they turned in before I checked the hotel’s lost and found. I asked both Mac Ward and the manager Elan Bielski if they disputed the following description of events, and they did not accepting that it accurately describes their claim of what I witnessed. I think the average person reading this review would not believe employees would split up lost phone chargers to return them separately to lost and found, after checking if they work with their own person phone.
The hotel did refund me for rooms.
Lastly the hotel refused to answer if they considered it theft for an employee to take home an item a guest leaves in a room, something that should be able to be answered with a...

There is a nice size shower with waterfall shower head that comes from the ceiling. The toilet is separate and on the other side. The setup is unique however please know the windows are not privacy glass so if you want to sleep with the windows open they are looking at your as you are looking at them. You can slide your suitcase under the bed and there is a safe in the one drawer. There is a little shelf space so it's tight but you can make it. There is AC which is nice. Our room smelled like throw up at times which was strange but the beds were comfortable. We got good sleep.
Make sure you use your daily $30 credit. You can order a drink in the bar and that will do it. They have a few appetizers with your drinks. The blackberry margarita is delicious. Their fries are good too. Next door if you remember, there is a happy hour until 6 pm that offers $6 margaritas and $1 tacos. It's a roof top and pretty lively. It's loud and gets busy so be sure to get there in time. They cut it off at 6 pm and the prices double.
The lounge space at the Moxy is nice when you are waiting for check in. They will store your bags for you but there is no early check in so plan on doing stuff and having them just hold your bags if you get in early. There are a few places to eat around the hotel and Uber and Lyft come pretty quick. You can even walk to the Subway. It's not in the middle of everything so you end up Ubering where you want to go.
New York operates on one way streets so please count in traffic as you move around. The one way directions can make it challenging getting to places in a timely manner. I'd say stay close to where you need to be or plan extra time to Uber there . All are worth it but I would have liked to know that when I visited. The Moxy is not close to Times Square or Central Park. You have to Uber. Conveniently out the way but you aren't getting any advantage staying here. You have the Marriott Marquis that is prime location and beautiful near Times Square and the Crown Plaza too that I noticed on Times Square and by all the food. You can't lose with the Marriott Marquis however. You are in good hands no matter what but wanted to share a bit. Very friendly staff at the Moxy. You have to call for ice and the iron and ironing board. They don't have housekeeping everyday either. They will give you water at the front desk but ice may not be on demand. If you forget items like a charger etc you can door dash them but you'll need to go down with your room card because those guys can't come up the elevator. The elevator is a great place to take cute pics. Art deco kinda place and they have outside sitting as well. Great networking and a lot of...
Read moreStayed from July 22nd to July 26th. Where to start? TLDR: Tiny rooms, rude management, place feels like a hostel, shower didn’t drain and overflowed into bed area, SLOW elevators, trash left in hallways. Doesn’t deserve their 4 star rating. Maybe 3. Rooms were tiny. I understand that’s an unalterable complaint, but be aware that if you’re a couple staying in one room for multiple nights, there is no storage space - no drawers and a closet that holds 2, 3 shirts. You will be living out of your suitcase for the duration of the trip. The bed is pushed against the window, so you will have to climb over each other to get into/out of bed. Trash was left out in the hallway during our entire stay. At the time of booking, breakfast was included in the rate of the room. The morning of the first day, we found out they had ended that service the day before, but found out when we were AT the breakfast bar. As in, this wasn’t communicated with us at check in, and we found out when we went to pay lol. Complained to the manager - she comped us for our coffees and pastries, but had a SERIOUS attitude while doing it. Didn’t get comped for the next two days, didn’t get a discounted rate for these two days. On the last day, we asked for our coffees and pastries again - they gave us a $25 discount for one night. Breakfast (two plain coffees, two pastries) came out to 40, so, not great. If you just ended that service, why not automatically discount the included rate of breakfast when we checked in? Or communicated that with us instead of finding out when we went to your breakfast bar? Feels like a hostel. If you like that sort of vibe, great. Lots of teenagers (there for an acting camp) running around. This isn’t the first complain of this vibe, go check out previous reviews. Not many adults staying in this hotel. Shower doesn’t drain properly. If you look at previous reviews, you’ll see this problem again and again. The shower is also next to the bed, so it’ll leak into your bed area. Slow elevators. Self explanatory. If you like waiting for the elevators for about 4 minutes, then book this hotel I guess. The Ready rooftop and Cathedral restaurant are, in my opinion, falsely advertised. Hotel guests don’t get preferential reservations for either spots. You have to book (if you are hoping to go on the weekend) 2 weeks in advance for both spots. Moxy doesn’t own these two businesses either, it’s managed by a different restaurant group.
All in all, this hotel doesn’t deserve their current rating and in all honestly, I hope you get demoted a star. Your staff is great, cleaning ladies were amazing, but management was awful and you guys are just overall ... not a good hotel compared to literally everyone else...
