When I go into a food establishment I like to test the personalities out because I want to be sure my food is palatable. My visit today at Whole Foods is pivotal. I like to eat vegetables and turkey for lunch and on occasions I'd take home some beans/vegetables and mushroom to add to my meals in the ensuing days. Today was no exception. The lady at the cold cooked vegetables etc. was very hospitable and kind. I asked to confirm if all the items were cold food because of my card use- I was told that area was solely cold foods. My orders went through nicely. She asked me me how much of each item I desired as she filled my containers. We chit chatted a bit and I thanked her kindly and I moved over to the warm food items. I landed at the rotisserie display area,When I arrived there there was a 7 feet white staff standing near by. As I was about to state my desire he walked away towards the far right end corner of the food area where the cutters were. I echoed that I would like some chicken. He turned as if he didn't realize that there were customers there behind me or I there. As he drew closer to the area I pointed to the piece of chicken I wanted . I asked if he could chop up the portion I was going to choose because I wanted to have some of it for my lunch- I was taken a back when he replied most emphatically, "the chicken was already chopped up'- now this portion of chicken was a half portion of a small chicken- it had a wing, rib area with a bit of breast in place. I knew I wasn't going to have all of that at once and I didn't want to be messing up my fingers to eat because i didn't want to visit the bathroom to wash my hands after my meal.
I wanted the chicken to be in sizeable portions so I could use my fork to eat the chicken, mushroom, butter beans, and squash in my small containers. When he responded as he did, I then asked if the eating area had firm plastic knives that I could use to cut the chicken in portions. He barely showed much concern- I can't remember what he said. When he went to weigh the chicken I again asked if he could chop the chicken in small portions after he weighed in and before taping the price tag. He just ignored me placed the price tag on and handed it to me. I could sense that the customers who were waiting found his behavior odd, but 'mom' was the word. I went to check out self service I swiped the items only after paying I noticed my warm food bill was $13.00 +. The only warm food was the chicken at $6.99 per pound. I called the young lady who was assisting in the area to check my items with me because I knew that the only warm food was the chicken. We both realized that instead of checking the salad bar box menu I had bypassed that and went straight to bar code- this was weird because my container didn't have a bar code- I had inadvertently passed the container over the bar pricing digital area and so I was charged for the beans as warm instead of cold food. The young lady had encouraged me to go downstairs to rectify the matter- but I was so hungry and also exhausted mentally by that guys attitude I was afraid of another negative attitude- I checked my stuff and went to eat my meal. Oh the place was crowded- they store had chucked the tables and chairs together to accommodate a new department- Bad idea Whole Foods! There was no reasonable available sitting are because the area was so jammed it was difficult to locate a clear clean table. I searched tiredly. I found a high chair which I really didn't want because of injuries to my body which was why I was in the area because I had just walked across from Mount Sinai Beth Israel. I cleaned the area before eating. I had to assist other patrons to find a clean area around me by beckoning them to sit by me as I cleared my...
