OVERALL: Not worth your money. Stay somewhere else!
CONS: The foyer is dark and it's always empty and there's always like chairs piled up, or lights turned off or a trolly just sitting in the middle of the room or in front of the elevator randomly...feels very abandoned and not great. ZERO security features. Our room key stopped working randomly and we just went to the desk and said hey it's broken and they fixed it, but asked ZERO security questions or anything. Like, anybody could just walk in there, say a room number, and they'll apparently just give you a new key...so we always took our valuables with us at ALL time, which isn't great if you end up getting jumped or mugged. Dated room. Carpet was dirty and dusty. Lamps were dusty. The floor wasn't finished!?!? (See picture) there were huge gaps like that all over. Yellowed wallpaper, dingy and peeling everywhere. Bedsheets had red on them that looked like blood!?!? 🤢😵 Ended up going to Target and buying our own sheets, blankets, pillows etc. Drawers were gross, dirty and stained, did not want to put ANYTHING in them. No fridge, so had to keep ANYTHING we brought home like a drink or something by the open window to keep it cold, but had to be SUPER careful cause the screen was broken, so it could fall out! Some of the plugs were broken and didn't work. The bathroom was old and yellowed but clean. Didn't want to stay and check out the food considering how everything else was.
PROS: VERY QUIET!! Best thing about the place. Decent area Very close to the Subway No bugs in our room. Other people in reviews had complained about bedbugs. We did a very thorough inspection on arrival and found none. The desk chair was the newest thing in there! Didn't really want to sit or lay anywhere until we bought our own stuff!
Ultimately we used my husband Amex points, so basically paid nothing to stay here, but, unless you want a DIY room, go...
Read moreOne of the worst experience ever at this place. We originally reserved this hotel for Sunday night (one night) via Expedia due to cheaper rate, $85/nt. Then, our plan got changed and I needed to stay for two nights from Saturday. I should've called Expedia, but instead I called this hotel directly. When I called, a man with Chinese accent answered. I asked if a room is available for Saturday night and if the room rate was the same as Expedia rate. The man said yes and he will reserve two nights for us. I asked about the payment, and he said since he has our credit card info from Expedia, I won't have to worry about it. I just didn't feel comfortable, so I called back and offered him my credit card, but he says he doesn't need it. So, I trusted him since I called twice to con firm my reservation and payment. When we got there late Saturday night, the manager, "Frank", says he couldn't find our reservation for Saturday but only one night Sunday. I explained to him and reasoned with him that I called twice to confirm reservation. Then he says he could not help, and the room rate is $200/nt. He says he can offer me a room at $160/nt, and try to pull a fast one on us. We got really upset and left hotel that night to stay at friends house. Next day we came back to check in for Sunday night stay. When we checked in, the front desk person says we have made a reservation for two days, Sunday and Monday nights, and try to charge us for Monday night as well... Funny, when Frank told us he couldn't find our two nights reservation, but now they found it... LOL. We called Expedia and told them about our situation. Expedia called hotel and took care of it for us. What a bad experience. I would not recommend this hotel. If you have to go to this hotel, make sure you have a full proof and documents of your reservation...
Read moreIts the cheapest hotel in the area, was one of the major reasons why I chose this hotel. I know flushing is a busy area, but didnt think it was going to be this tuff to manage through the cars and people everywhere. I was lucky enough to pull into an open spot in front to check in and than was told I can only park there for 15 minutes and parking is not included and I can purchase parking at 28 per day. Not what I want to hear after a long flight. I did get bottle water cause im an elite rewards member, which I had to say since, I didn't get any recognition. The 1st room she gave me had a musty smell and was facing the vents directly from a restaurant and the smell was awful and it was very noisy when I opened the window 3 inches which was allowed. Than wife found a bunch of black hair in the bathroom. I immediately complained to Pei. She understood my situation and did give me another room located 2 floors up, which was a little better, but still found hair! The rooms are small like European style. But it had bed bugs every room and my wife and i are all bit up. Just hope they didnt jump in suitcases and come home with me and spread. The location is great for local transportation, but parking is a major problem. I was lucky enough to find free parking on college Ave at night only. During the day expect to pay. Its extremely crowded and a lot of traffic during day. The gym is outdated, but useful and bf is blaw. I recommend sleep and leave. Rooms are quite and TV worked fine however wifi doesn't connect. I should've read all the reviews before I booked. It's one of the worst Bestwesterns I ever been. I'm surprised Bestwestern represents a...
