Food was okay but my order (santay beef macaroni in soup) was a total disappointment (santay sauce was too few that I could barely felt the taste) and it took a good 25 minutes for it to arrive (probably due to the fact that I went there on a Saturday - too many people and the kitchen staff just couldn’t handle the volume of orders that they were dealing with). Staff was okay but they gave me the order of the other table (it was a santay beef in ramen noodles) upon delivering my order so I told the waiter right away. There’s definitely areas of improvement and hopefully the owner can treat my review seriously. I’ll probably try it out one more time before finding another place…
Revised: Went to this place again during dinner time and the food was a complete surprise… Even it took nearly 25 minutes for me waiting for my main course (a dish of baked seafood with fried rice in a white sauce) but the taste was completely out of my imagination especially the white sauce itself. Both the French Toast and egg sandwich were very delicious too (probably because it was not as busy comparing to the previous weekends that I went 🤔 ) so I will definitely come back and try out some other dishes as well but will definitely avoid weekends for sure…
Another revision: Both my son and myself went to this place again today (8/29). It was kind of busy and everyone was running around like crazy… Nobody noticed us after nearly 10 minutes but the bar tender (we sat right next to the bar) was very helpful 👏👏👏 and gave me a few suggestions when I had difficulty on finding the food that I liked. He even suggested an out-of-menu (spaghetti with chicken in a tomato sauce) item for me to order based on my preference so he definitely deserved a raise. As expected, my dish was really tasty and the coffee (less sugar because I was diabetic) was great as usual (loved the taste of their coffee and Hong Kong style milk tea 🧋). Will definitely come...
Read morecame here with my family on a weekday afternoon shortly before 5pm on 7/19 and they were still in their soft opening phase. a few tables were occupied and lots of seating were available. the staff greeted us that they'd be able to seat us immediately but we'd not be able to start ordering until 5pm, which is fine by us as we'd need time to decide anyway.
after much deliberation, we got the following to try:
-salt & pepper fried squid: crispy and perfectly seasoned!
-fried buns: a tad greasy and the buns absorbed a lot more oil during the frying process.
-japanese style seafood fried udon: heavily seasoned and the udon was kinda hard, meh.
-baked fried rice with pork chop (black pepper sauce): we had a choice of tomato sauce, curry, or black pepper sauce. we went with black pepper sauce and it was pretty mild actually. a hearty and tasty dish!
-beef with broccoli on rice: standard fare, the kids love it.
-peking pork ribs on rice: another typical dish from cantonese restaurants. the sauce is a little sweet for our taste, but overall flavor is really good and reminds me of the peking pork chops we got from cantonese restaurants as a kid.
-golden lava french toast: melty golden lava filling, made from salted egg yolks, in between two slices of buttery, crispy french toasts. it's sweet and rich, highly recommend that you share with others to avoid the itis lol
-HK style iced milk tea: very tea-y, which i LOVE! sweetness was just right too
-red bean ice with coconut milk: ok, no complaints here
we were wary that there'd be long waits for the food but it turned out fine. our food came out in reasonable time and they tasted ok to great for the most part. price to portion was fair too. service was decent, our water were consistently refilled. overall, a good addition to the neighborhood, will return.
ps. they're...
Read moreWe reached the restaurant at approximately 10:50 am and were seated by 11:10 am, which unfortunately meant that we missed the opportunity to order from the breakfast menu. However, a helpful tip is to inquire whether it's possible to place a breakfast order while waiting for a table. The cuisine offered a delightful taste reminiscent of Hong Kong, with a standout item being their exceptional milk tea. Our meal consisted of the delicious baked rice with pork chop in tomato sauce, the flavorful beef chow fun, and the mouthwatering satay beef with noodles. Each dish surpassed our expectations.
Although the breakfast menu is available until 11 am, it tends to get crowded, leading to long waiting times. To avoid extended waits, it is recommended to arrive around 10 am. It is important to note that some customers may feel frustrated as they are unable to promptly enjoy their breakfast upon being seated.
The service we received was praiseworthy, with one waiter, wearing glasses, displaying exceptional politeness by handing us napkins with both hands. The staff diligently followed mask-wearing protocols, but it did create a slightly aloof atmosphere. Due to the restaurant's bustling nature, patrons should anticipate a quick turnover, making it challenging to engage in lengthy...
