Idol Hair Salon — Local services in New York

This is the only place I go to get my hair cut/dye. My mom has been going to this salon for over 20 years, and when I started looking for a regular salon to go to, I tried so many other salons until my mom took me along to get a hair cut here. I booked through class pass and made a reservation ahead of time, when I arrived I asked to confirm the location, I was told yes and to sit down.

Later, I was charged $40 for an uneven haircut. I was confused why I was paying double and the owner tells me the salon I had actually booked for was next door.

I was upset and asked “why did the lady tell me this was the right place then?” He said “oh she didn’t understand”

I love this salon for cuts. Alan’s been my hair dresser since I was 10. I’ve tried other IG famous Asian hair salons in queens and keep coming back to this one. Unassuming bc the clientele skews a bit older but I hope more young people come.
