I wanted to share the incredible care and support Sunshine Day Care has provided to my daughter, during her time at the 5th ave center. Sunshine has truly been instrumental in her development, and I cannot thank you enough.

From the moment we walked through the doors, she was welcomed with open arms by her teachers in the Lions classroom, Ms. Andrea and Ms. Beyonce. Their love and kindness created a warm and nurturing environment for her to thrive in. They went above and beyond to ensure she felt safe and loved every single day. We did not have a good experience at our previous daycare (Pequenines) and were anxious about her transitioning to a new center, however, our concerns were met with love, kindness, respect and more importantly with open communication.

As my daugheter progressed to her second classroom, Ms. Shekeema and Ms. Jasmine continued to shower her with affection and guidance. Their dedication to her growth and wellbeing was evident, and she blossomed under their care. Their commitment to creating a loving and supportive atmosphere was truly remarkable.

I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding work of Jill and Alexandra the director. Their constant communication with families, responsiveness, and warm smiles made a world of difference. Jill was always there to address any concerns or questions we had, and their genuine care for each child and family was palpable. I am truly grateful for everything they have done for us.

Throughout my daughters time at Sunshine, she had the opportunity to engage in a variety of enriching activities. From soccer to Spanish lessons, dance classes, and a visit from the petting zoo, her days were filled with excitement and learning. It was incredible to witness her grow and explore new interests each day.

Our time at Sunshine has been absolutely wonderful, and we will miss everyone dearly. The impact you have had on my daughter’s life is immeasurable, and we will forever be grateful for the love, care, and guidance she received. You have created a truly exceptional environment for children to thrive, and I cannot recommend Sunshine 5th Ave enough.

As a teacher and a father of twins, I look for a lot of things when it comes to both the well-being of my girls and the academic development that happens at such an early age. Sunshine has hit the mark on both aspects in multiple ways.

Academically, as my children turned 2, they were exposed to both Heggerty and Creative Curriculum, both curriculums that are used in many public schools for 3K and Pre-K. Seeing my girls recognize numbers and letters all around them and even putting together longer sentences has been amazing to see. I also appreciate the teachers utilizing similar techniques to help our girls understand how to interact with other children and build their vocabulary to express their needs in a clearer way. With Sunshine, we feel like we're all part of a team and there is carry-over between Sunshine and home for us.

Well-being wise, I can't say enough about the teachers my girls have had throughout their journey in Sunshine from such an early age. Each teacher knew my girls by name, even the teachers who have never taught them before. Big smiles and excitement usually accompanies them when they go to school and when they share what they did at school every day. One of our best times every day is sharing and talking over what happened at school through their Tadpole reports. They excitedly tell us about their playground days, their walk days, their crafts, read-alouds, Spanish, music, and their friends in their classes.

Wonderful Experience at Sunshine Daycare of East Harlem We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Sunshine. Our daughter started here when she was just 2 years old, and she is now almost 4. Over the past two years, we've watched her grow and thrive, and it’s all thanks to the incredible teachers and thoughtful curriculum at this school. The staff is incredibly caring, attentive, and professional. Every teacher is genuinely invested in each child’s development, and it shows in how much my daughter has learned and blossomed. We’ve been particularly impressed with the individualized attention she receives, as well as the nurturing, welcoming environment the teachers create every day. The curriculum is well-rounded, engaging, and age-appropriate. It balances creative play, early learning skills, and social development in a way that keeps children excited about coming to school each day. From art and music to reading and basic math concepts, I can see the foundation they are building for her future education, all while fostering a love of learning. As parents, we appreciate the consistent communication and the regular updates on our child’s progress. The team is always available to discuss any questions or concerns, and it’s clear that they truly care about the well-being and growth of every child.
