Susie's Nail Salon — Local services in New York

I’ve been coming to Susie’s Nails for over 5 years but unfortunately will not be back again. Although this spot is not the largest or nicest, I was happy to support this smaller establishment in the past but I won’t be supporting them again.

I made a reservation for a pedicure and showed up on time. Despite barely being acknowledged I waited patiently for 20min after my appointment time. My patience wore thin when THREE people who also had reservations but arrived after me were seated ahead of me. I asked two different employees how long the wait would be - one told me she didn’t know and the other just didn’t answer my question. It’s very unprofessional and rude to ignore customers and completely disregard appointment times.

Over the years the quality has been very hit or miss. I wouldn’t recommend this salon and look forward to finding a new establishment that values me...

A calm nail salon. This is definitely a place where you can go relax while enjoying a manicure. I had a gel manicure and knew my selection before going so I cannot attest to how many colors they offer. The manicurist used a warm scrub on my hands before applying the hot towel. She did something I had never had before by applying a strip of gel to the tips before the full nail polish. (It should keep the color fully on for two weeks with no chips at tips.)

It is very small with a few seats so make an appointment before going. This is not an assembly line experience. Needless to say they are clean and pleasant. I was there for a little less than an hour.

I did my nails yesterday here with Lorena and she did an amazing job! My nails before were very wide and I wanted skinny square and it came out exactly how I wanted. The place was clean. They checked my temperature when I came in and I washed my hands. Then before I sat down everything was wiped clean. Out of all the places I called around this area, this place was the most reasonable. I have acrylic tips so I needed a filling with gel polish on top and a pedicure for $90. Most places were charging that and more just for a filling and gel on top without the pedicure 🙄. Then after I was done the manager was nice enough to give me a N95 mask which was so nice of her. I will most definitely be back in two weeks!...
