Sweet Vegan Chocolates — Local services in New York

I have great things to say about the chocolates themselves, but the standout experience of ordering from Sweet Vegan was receiving perhaps the best customer service, ever, directly from the owner and chocolatier herself, Chef Andrea. I called their phone number, and Andrea was so patient, attentive and flexible with customizing my order. She went above and beyond to help me understand the ingredients of the chocolates, and also incorporate some substitute flavors that typically would not be available for purchase (since they are currently out of season). However, she earnestly listened and worked with me to get everything just perfect. I cannot imagine the sheer volume of phone calls and emails that Sweet Vegan receives on a daily basis (being a top-rated chocolatier in NYC), however Chef Andrea was kind, accommodating, and super friendly; at no point did I feel rushed or pressured. And this was during crunch time, a week before Valentine's Day. She was the best.

Now, onto the chocolates themselves: exquisitely silky smooth, deeply rich chocolates with interesting and innovative flavors. My special lady and I both agree that the ginger and espresso varieties are our favorites--but, just barely. Because each one is a homerun in its own right. Perhaps the best chocolates I've ever eaten, whether vegan or dairy-based.

And the packaging was high quality, beautiful, and elegant. The hand-written note addressed to my valentine provided a sweet, personal touch. She was delighted with the whole experience.

One world… DIVINE My Temptation box lives up to its name. Each piece was so rich and decadent, but not overbearing. The combinations of flavors, such and the lemon and ginger, blended smoothly with the chocolate I was shocked that those combinations could come out that well.

I initially had a taste for a brownie or a cookie but when I spoke to Chef Andrea on the phone, she recommended her Midnight Passion to do the trick. Well she was right! My brownie craving was curbed and I was one satisfied customer.

Sweet vegan has great customer service. I called them on the fly, told them what I was looking for and they literally took the time and had patience to figure out might best suit my needs. Chef Andrea was very warm and engaging on the phone and in person. They really do live up to their mission on offering fresh organic high quality vegan friendly, gluten,soy and nut-free options to their consumers.

My pick-up experience was just as great. It was ready right away. The street parking was not chaotic at all, I was able to get a spot right in front of the building. The area was very clean, quiet, secure and welcoming.

I met Chef Andrea at an event she was doing at WeWork in Tysons and was privileged to try her amazing chocolates. I was especially excited when I found out that they don't contain dairy or soy. I have to admit I had very low expectations. Normally dark chocolate is very bitter and vegan usually means 'yuck', but I was absolutely blown away. Oh my goodness they're yummy!! I tried the Luscious Lemon and the Spicy Ginger. These chocolates are creamy and rich with intense flavor that isn't overpowering. The Luscious Lemon was a wonderfully refreshing treat. The lemon wasn't too tart and the flavor blended perfectly with the chocolate. They're a perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth without being sickly sweet. But, the Spicy Ginger completely stole my heart and my taste buds. I LOVE ginger and this vegan truffle was like a little slice of heaven. The chocolate melted in my mouth while the ginger had the perfect amount of spice. If you get the chance, run, don't walk, to find a store and get some of these luxurious treats! I just ordered a box of Sweet Vegan truffles yesterday and I can't WAIT for them to arrive. I have made it a new goal to try every single flavor of these wonderful chocolate treats.
