Taiyo Foods — Local services in New York

Sunnyside has had numerous Asian grocery stores throughout the years, but we really haven't had that many Japanese ones. Thankfully, Taiyo Foods fills this once empty gap.

I don't come here very often, something which I should change, but whenever I do stop by, I leave happy. In general, I usually shop for a variety of their sweets (bean cakes, green tea iced cream), or their rice balls.

Seeing as how it's been a while since I last stopped by, I noticed that the store has improved. Nowadays they're accepting debit/credit cards (it used to be cash only) and there are more hot meals ready to go. The store is pretty tightly packed, but as long as you avoid busy hours, you're good to go.

Besides the tasty snacks I mentioned, Taiyo Foods has a small, yet interesting selection of beers. Alongside that, they also have a lot of instant products. You generally see those at all sorts of stores, even at local pharmacies such as Rite Aid, but these look to be of much higher quality, so I have to check them out at a later time.

Taiyo Foods also have some home products, but I probably won't be checking them out any time soon. Still, don't let me saying that prevent you from checking these specific products out.

I haven't tried everything that this store has to offer, seeing as how I'm not familiar with all of these products, but I do know that I'll keep coming back for the things that I already enjoy...

I been going to a restaurant around where I live and at the end when i was paying my check i received a taiyo food business card from them. I loved their green tea ice cream and I ordered 4 times there so they thought that I really liked the ice cream!

Taiyo foods Is a Japanese food store! It's a small convenience store with Japanese products from food, vegetables, snacks, frozen food, and etc.

It's worth it going there! I did find the ice cream! And brought pint of green tea ice cream! MATCHA GREEN TEA ICE CREAM IS WORTH OF TRY! I highly recommend.

They also have Japanese brand of alcohol! I loved it! I go there every week of Friday to get food from there.

They also have to go food! I saw noodles and rice dish. It's a take out only because there's no tables where you could eat!!

They also have crepe & yogurt! The yogurt I loved it and fell in love with it. This place will be my favorite place where I go get ice...

Great selection and helpful staff. Easy to find and there is metered parking outside. This area is typically hard to park, but i happen to luck out. I knew what i wanted to get but took some time to view the entire store. Hope the pictures help! Anything i would want to look for is actually here. Definitely will come back here again and again. I just checked my receipt and noticed i was charged full price for a sale item! Please make sure you check before leaving the store for sale items!
