Thomas Jefferson Pool — Local services in New York

The pool is so big! And the pool for the littles is a great size! The staff is amazing! Everyone was so helpful and patient. They enforce the rules but respectfully and they are patient. You need that to keep things together and the professionalism and pride they have in what they do is clear to see. The pool was clean too. I came with a stroller and they did have a designated area to leave them. Next time I will bring a bike lock to secure it to the fence. The workers are close by but if they were to step away for any reasons anyone in the park could take it. Better to be safe than sorry. The water in the showers was cold so we couldn’t shower, the benches are narrow so it was a little tough dressing my 10 month old and the dressing rooms don’t have big enough curtains to give full privacy but overall we had a great day and will...

This is my childhood pool. I then took my kids here. I know there’s a shortage in lifeguards but the staff don’t let you know why you’re waiting for so long on that line and told me I couldn’t bring my stroller inside the locker room only when I was about to go in and there were others with strollers. They should let everyone know immediately about these things because they saw us and stayed shut. I have taken a stroller before so this took me by surprise. Very unpleasant staff. If it weren't for my daughter who loves water very much, I wouldn't go here. Each time I was not allowed to enter, they said that my daughter and I had clothes not for swimming. My 5 year old daughter was brought to tears. She didn’t understand why she couldn’t go to the pool while we sorted out the situation. If I was alone, I would turn around and leave and would not prove anything. It is a pity that such people work with people and especially with children....
