Very unfortunate that I am writing this review. I finally found an amazing nail salon that’s both incredibly talented and well priced. The nail tech matters- it’s so important to make sure you have a good one. One bad mail tech can ruin it all sadly.
This was my 4th visit to this location for a gel manicure. I’ve been working on rebuilding and strengthening my natural nails after years of having a mix of gel-X and hard gel (builder gel) extensions. My nail beds were getting so much stronger and nails were growing long!
My 3rd visit I was with a much younger girl, who seemed to be rather new. She had a very difficult time shaping my nails, I asked for oval or almond- whichever she thought my nails were long enough to make uniform. Each mail ended up with its own unique shape. One round, one lopsided, one almond, one oval- and so on. The girl was so sweet and tried so hard. And I’m on my nail growth journey so whatever, who cared. I just let it slide.
The real issue came when she began to aggressively file down my nail beds. I’m talking, filing my nail beds down like they were acrylics. I winced, and asked her to be careful (kindly) because my nails are already VERY thin.
No surprise that two of my nails split at the nail bed within a week of this appointment. So I went back in for a second service just 10 days later. To my shock and fear- it was with the same tech!
I start a new job and my nails were broken and discolored as well as misshapen so I had no choice but to continue with the appointment in hopes of her having improved her skills in the mere 10 days since my previous appointment.
Well the shape is an 100% improvement! I’ll give her that. But the amount of filing she did to my nail bed yet again put me in pain. She has no doubt absolutely DESTROYED my natural nail bed. It’s been less than 24 hours and I already have THREE (3!) broken nails. Let me reiterate that these are my natural nails. They are so thin and sharp that I have already scratched my own skin multiple times.
I’m saddened that such a technique and error would be allowed in this salon. I really wish that I could allow myself to continue coming here. Prior to this service I gave this place a 5 star review.
I will not be returning, and I would advise that if you go you make sure the nail tech is...
Read morePlease do not get ombre nails done here. There is only one employee (female) that does ombre nails between the two locations and she was very rude. I showed her a reference picture and she immediately got very defensive and stated that nothing will look 100% like the picture. I responded very patiently and said I totally understand that nothing will look 100% the same but the picture is just inspiration for what I would like my nails to look like. She kept repeating that she couldn't make it look 100% the same and made me so uncomfortable in her tone that I asked her if I should go somewhere else - without even responding to my question, she proceeding to cut off the tips she just glued on (without any explanation) and was very rough with the removal process. I was so shocked at this treatment but still kindly asked her if I could have someone else remove the tips since she was being so rough - she just walked away without saying anything to me. There was no awareness at all. I was literally in tears by this point from being treated so rudely and this all took place 3 days before my wedding. I walked down the street the Heavenly Nails who treated me with respect and did my nails absolutely perfectly.
Reply (to the company's response): This IS my first time coming to your salon but it was NOT my first time getting nails done. I (and everyone else in the general population) knows that sns powder is used for the ombre effect - this was not the issue at hand and is an unrelated statement... Additionally, I kept explaining to the nail tech that I understand all nails will look different (this is basic knowledge) but that the picture I was showing her was the general inspiration/style I was hoping to achieve. She could not take the time to listen to me or even treat me with respect. You should spend less time replying to reviews on google and more time training your staff on customer service and basic etiquette in treating other...
Read moreWill update if I find myself having a better experience
I tried calling to make an appointment three times, all left unanswered. Their website doesn't offer an appointment form, and just says "call us." So I tried walking in and was basically laughed at for thinking I could do such a thing. On top of that, the woman at the front desk was just about to turn around and walk away without helping me make an appointment. It was a very uncomfortable experience and somehow it wasn't over.
I asked if I could make an appointment for a gel fill. The woman asked what I already had on my nails and I said gel. She was questioning if it was acrylic which I was then unsure, but I can say for a fact that I got a gel set from a different salon. I'm new to nails and don't really know the difference but that's besides the point. She said they don't have materials to work with my nails. But their "menu" says they do hard gel?? Again, she scoffed at me for not being sure. So I said I would have to come back another time.
I'm conflicted because their photos show nice work and are aligned with what I'm looking for. But that was really bad service in my opinion, it doesn't seem like they care to have my business if they don't answer the phone or offer to make an appointment in person. I would try again, as I really like their examples...
