We have purchased furniture over the years at Raymour & Flanigan Looking to purchase a sofa and love seat we worked with an associate we shared what was important to us Height since it would be placed under a large window, firmness of cushion, material- this is for a family room, and of course the measurements of both My husband measured present sofa and love seat and the space we would be placing it We felt confident and decided to purchase yet to be sure my husband shared the dimensions again and, I believe one store manager was present when we shared that with the associate we were working with he said " oh this is only a few inches off" Delivered on Saturday Aug 31st love seat was over a foot longer then expected I called, spoke to manager who initially shared I might place it on another wall that was not an options she then shared were no other options it was ours After much discussions I was told she would talked to other manager and we would receive a call next day Of course this did not happen days later I called and spoke with this other manager who had never been approached Same story Until I said We take part of the blame in that we did not push for measurement again , However; we feel R&F shares most blame for just letting our concern regarding the size of the love seat go to make the sale. When I asked for any options this manager talked about restocking fee of 40% and they would take a loss We continued out discussion he did share he was taking notes and was listening yet did not offer any solutions I thanked him for listening and hung up R&F is a highly respected store, with quality employees who are polite and eager to please Until now I found them to be transparent, honest, a store with integrity yet This experience did not have to happen I feel I will pursue this issue with upper management in hopes of preventing others from this situation. Again we take a part of the blame yet are saddened that R&F are unwilling...
Read moreHad an unpleasant experience dealing with Joseph at this store. We gave him a general idea of the color sofa and over-sized chair we were looking for, so instead of letting us browse the store as I was needing end tables as well, he had us dashing through to store to show us what he thought we would like, 2 of the sofas being in a totally different color than we had said. We didn't ask for any pricing until we saw everything that we wanted and had narrowed it down to 2 sets. Once we made our way around the store with Joseph, he asked us if we would be buying anything today and I said no that we were still looking (in this store as well as others that I was visiting that day) He promptly said "Ok thanks for stopping in and here is my card" and walked away....Ok...I wasn't even done looking yet. The whole time we had a second sales person shadowing us who Joseph never introduced us to so we thought he was just another salesman that was going to help but in the end we assumed he was in training. Joseph is the last person any sales trainee should be following as he is so rude and just looking to make a quick buck. Well once Joseph ditched us because we weren't "buying anything today", we kept wandering around the store and luckily Pedro stayed and gave us pricing for the 2 sets that we had liked. Joseph came back around and commented nicely how Pedro was taking care us. Pedro was much more pleasant to work with. I did find a set in another store that I will be purchasing but if I did want one in this store, I wouldn't give Joseph a dime of commission because of his attitude. Joseph needs to listen to what his customers are looking for as opposed to assuming what he think they want. Just because we weren't buying anything today doesn't mean I wouldn't ever be back and he just didn't want to waste his time on us. This is the worst salesman I’ve ever dealt with when shopping for furniture in my...
Read moreMy husband and I were in need of a new leather reclining sofa and chair. In our search for these items, we went to 7 different furniture stores in search for the perfect set for our living room. Mikhail greeted us when we entered the Newington Raymour & Flanigan. He began by walking us around to show us the various possible sofas that would fit our needs and explained the details to us of the ones that we showed some interest. Unlike at the other stores, I was very happy that he then gave us time browse and talk amongst ourselves to discuss the various pros and cons. He then returned to ask us if we had any additional questions. We finally decided on a set at Raymour & Flanigan after I did extensive research of internet reviews as well as myself returning to several of the stores on my own the following week.. What I liked about Mikhail was that not only was he very knowledgeable about all of the furniture that we showed interest in; but also, he that gave us time to browse on our own without being asked to do so. His manner was also very friendly. A sales person at one of the other 7 stores, just pointed. us in the direction of the sofas and then did not talk to us again until it was time to say good-bye to us as we were leaving their store. At the other stores, they hovered over us the entire time and did not seem to be as knowledgeable about the furniture as Mikhail. Yesterday was my 3rd visit to R & F, during which I bought the sofa and chair. I was very pleased not only with my purchase, but also the customer service that I received...
