This diner was really good, bordering on fantastic. It was a true retro dining experience straight from the 1950s. There is counter and booth seating in the main part of the diner, in addition to the dining room attached to the back. I went in wanting a burger, but got sidetracked with a Ruben. I do not regret my decision. My only disappointment was that the milkshake didn't have any whipped cream on top. That would have been the bee's knees: just simply swell. The Olymia is conveniently located on the Berlin Turnpike, if that's someplace that's convenient to where you are. If it isn't, than it isn't. For dessert, I enjoyed the mud pie. I'm not sure how authentic it was, but it was pretty tasty. I could wax poeticly on how eating here transported me through time to a time when the future was less chaotic, but that wouldn't be necessarily what you're looking for in a review. What I will say is that I enjoyed my meal despite how my lactose intolerance reacted to that delicious milkshake I enjoyed. Mind you, I knew I would suffer for having it, but as I came here to relive memories from over two decades prior, it was well worth the sacrifice to my night's well-being.

It's funny! My father stopped here at the Olympia Diner in the mid 50s , on his way back from New York. There was no i-91 in those days so the Pike was it. I stopped in the other day and was pleased to see that the nostalgic flare of it all was still there. There was a team of waitresses buzzing all around the counter and the dining area. I quickly ordered French toast with two eggs and was very pleased as it came to the counter within 8 minutes. The French toast was soft and springy and I watched the butter melt right into the holes, as I drizeled syrup around the top, and over the edge. The two eggs were over medium perfectly as I had ordered, and I cut into them halfway through the French toast. Absolutely delicious. When it came time to pay they guided me into a side room where there was a register, and a whole other area for dining. I actually can't wait to go back to the Olympia diner, to see what else might be great on the menu. JS

Date of Visit: 5/3/25 I've been to this diner a few times before, but unfortunately, today's experience was very disappointing. The server didn’t follow basic instructions—for example, I asked for my milkshake after the meal, but it came early. My salad was forgotten, and my sister’s sides never arrived. To make matters worse, the server had the nerve to ask for a tip, despite the poor service. I actually planned to come back the next day and tip him, assuming it was just an off day—but now, I don’t see myself returning at all. He did seem new, but tip requests should never be made outright—especially when service is subpar. As for the food: I ordered the chicken Alfredo, and it was disappointing. The chicken was clearly pre-baked, not freshly cooked—I know because I’ve worked in a diner myself. Parts of the dish were cold, which made me question whether it was freshly made or just reheated. The table was dirty when we were seated, and the floor had leftover food and pickles on it, which just added to the negative impression. I really wanted to give this place another shot, but after this visit, I’m not sure I’ll be coming back.

This is an awesome, old school, retro diner located on the southbound side of the Berlin Turnpike. It is a true landmark. I've seen it as the backdrop for various TV commercials, which is pretty cool. Most recently, I saw a music video that was filmed here. I have enjoyed breakfast here on many occasions. Back in the day, it was common to have breakfast at night, after going out for drinks, when the bars shut down. I don't believe that is an option anymore since they close at midnight. You can eat at the counter while sitting on a stool or there are booths with table service. There is also a dining area they added on, but I prefer the retro look and feel of the original dining area. This place has been here ever since I can remember. If you're in the area and want to go somewhere for breakfast, I would have no reservations in recommending this fine establishment... Perhaps pie would be something you are more interested in? K-Lap

We heard about this place being put up for sale and wanted to try it out given it's long-standing local history. Friday night dinner was very quiet. Music quietly playing in the back but ambience did feel a little run down due to this. It's a small space but cozy and homely. Overall the space is meant to look a bit retro, just comes off as worn. Bathroom was ok, two stalls in the women's room but could use some cleaning given the downtime. Staff were great and quick to help. They did check up on us a couple times during our meals. I also saw them friendly with some customers who I presumed were regulars. It's good to see a business build long-lasting relationships with it's clientele. Food was fine. The Greek omelet (subbed out for Swiss cheese and spinach) was good. Home fries were a touch overdone but still tasty. The burger was okay but coleslaw was very sweet. Overall good and we'd come back again.
