Newport Island is a great place for families. However, all too often, short-term rental operators on this tiny little island market the environment as a place to come let your hair down and have a whole lotta party fun --- 24/7. But it isn’t at all that way. Instead, island life is very quiet and super family-oriented. This island doesn’t allow the type of partying and loud setting that the Newport Beach has disturbingly become known for to some visitors.
If you’re considering visiting Newport Island as a vacation get away to come be loud, reckless, and party hard, then you’re in the WRONG spot. As a short-term/weekly vacation rental for these types of visitors, I wish I could give this tiny little island consisting of about 110 houses that are incredibly close together NEGATIVE STARS!!! The reason is that many of the weekly vacationers who come here do so to party, are loud, make noise past the 10pm curfew, roam the quiet streets late at night, have multiple parking violations, problems with trash, and a myriad of other uncomfortable issues.
It's sad that vacationers are often tricked by the online marketing representations made by some of the management companies running the short-term/weekly rentals on the island. When these “type” of people get to Newport Island, they quickly find out it’s a super quiet, close knit, family-oriented residential living environment. When visitors become unruly, to their surprise and dismay, they often meet their first couple days staying on the island with a visit from the Newport Beach Police Department, receive citations from City Parking Control upwards of $80 -$600 for improper parking of vehicles, get pricey code violations for having too many guests, are out of compliance with trash usage, encounter angry full-time residents who don’t want visitors being loud and who aren’t afraid to swiftly call the police, and in general being potentially placed under a microscope while vacationing if/when they misbehave. There is an attentive Neighborhood Watch program on the island and numerous security cameras.
If you’re looking for a party atmosphere while vacationing on Newport Island, you’re in for a RUDE AWAKENING. Or, if you’re just generally loud and disrespectful, you’ll hate Newport Island. Free info and advice. ...
