I had my daughters 10th birthday party here and started out great pricing was great I prepaid for 20 people with the understanding that I could have an additional 5 people that I would have to pay out of pocket for. Everything started great I booked the party in July for a September birthday (at the time there were nothing on the calendar) I requested 12 or 1 and was booked for the 2pm party time frame. I swear when I went over the contract it said two hours in the party room and free skate all day. I will admit I did look at a bunch of venues so this may have been my misunderstanding though I would put money on it that it is not. About a week before her party I got a call to confirm the people pizzas ordered (I ordered the extra 4 pizzas and 4 drinks because kids can eat) at this time we confirmed everything down to what I would like the sign to say I used my daughters preferred nickname and requested happy 10th birthday nickname. I thought everything was all set. I was told food and drinks would be in the party room upon or shortly after arrival but by the start of the party at 2. Fast forward to the day of they used her government name on the sign which kinda iterated me but not really the end of the world. We arrived 15 minutes early and were escorted to the room where my husband, brother, daughter and I began to quickly set everything up. I did have the person in the front come to me and say we were already at the 20 and asked who specifically I wanted to make sure remained for the additional 5 people. I went to the front and had my mother in law not checked off and all 5 extra spaces marked off with only 4 names there. I believe the included my daughter the guest of honor in the 20 count but it was whatever there were two additional kids that had not shown up yet but were not marked off so we ended up with the 20 and did not go over. About 30 minutes into the party is when the pizza finally showed up and about 45 minutes in I had to go to the concession stand to find out what was going on with the drinks.drinks did not arrive until about 3pm at this point I was kinda over everything. I finally was able to get the kids to the party room and do pizza drinks and cupcakes and finally presents. Sent everyone out at 3:58 to go skate and by 4 they announced they were closing. Again, I may have misread the all day skate but I did ask about this and was told this had never been a thing to do all day skate. I wasn’t going to say anything because this isn’t my typical responses, I have worked customer service for years and I understand things happen however, a friend of mine made a review and they responded with some half assed it’s my fault and “There are many reasons to choose another venue for your event, but the ones in your review just aren't based on reality. I went to go skate one night and about an hour skating there was a fight that took place between two males. People stopped skating to record and instigate while the cops broke up the fight and told the two males to calm down. The fight took place at the entry way. Eventually the fight broke off and everyone cleared the the scene and continued to skate. Not even thirty minutes latter another fight was commuted this time between two females. Again, every one stopped skating to instigate and record... as before the cops came in to stop the fight and calmed down the two females. As stated before, the fight calmed down and everyone continued to skate. About thirty minutes latter another fight occurred. This time the fight was between two males, again. This time it was in the corner of the rink where you receive your skates. This fight took a while to brake up and then the scene was cleared. It was frustrating to enjoy skating because there was a fight ever so often and people had to stop. The other contribution is that people like to grab you to move you out the way. Both kids and adults, feels like your being violated. This’s occurence does not just happen once, but it happened often. For example, you could be skating at your own pace and if your in some one’s way they will grab you and push you out of the way. The music was terrible with the vulgarity and majority of the music was either talking about sexual encounters or defeading women. Lastly, I decided I had enough and couldn’t enjoy skating so o decided to leave. As I returned my skates and try to put my shoes on a fight happened between two young males. This fight happened as I was walking to put my shoes on. On of the males hit me and the cops came by and I separated the two from continuing to enguage the fight. The cops took both males a side and I left. As I walked out side there was an ambulance and three police cars. It was bad because there was traffic in streets and traffic in the parking lot. I am from out of state and it was a little chilly to skate outside ( I do both) on Friday April 19th . Called and talked to mgr Ray . I explained I was an adult but used a skate mate for health reasons and he said yes Friday are slow . I know that when a rink is crowded or use lots of kids it is not safe for me to skate . He said if I had any problems mention his name . Got to door and told lady talked to Ray she let me in . Then she comes and says did Ray tell you would have to skate in the beginner wink ( very tiny for kids ) I said no . Then as I go to get on rink bossy lady stops me and says can’t use skate mate .on regular rink have to use on baby’s rink . I say cleared with manager . She complains to the mgr on duty . He pulls me to side of rink . I explain everything again . He says afraid for my safety and there are people who like to skate fast . I hold my ground and skate my 80 laps around rink while lady who complained hardly skated and she watched me . Perhaps she was hoping I would fall but skated my 80 laps flawlessly . End of night I politely ask same lady to take pix of me . I had head sets on and did not realize she was talking She rudely says no I am busy talking . Another lady is taking selfie of her and her son . II offer to take pix and politely ask if she will take mine . She also says no . This place was not busy . Also they did not stop the kids who were dangerously skating backwards around the rink . .. I travel around the East coast Latin dancing and skating . People are always nice and are impressed that with my disabilities I skate and dance . Needless to say I will never be back and will not recommend to my fellow skating groups . Reverse discrimination and hostile Update ; mgmt claims no responsibly for my bad experienced . I even offered to leave my name with Ray so he could let staff know we had spoken . He refused Staff harassed me more than one time Guy could have told rude lady she is not mgmt and it was cleared by mgmt .
