Me and my mother came in last night. We were greeted by David, the owner. The place is very very well decorated. The music and lights are very nice for a relaxing, experience. David was extremely professional and courteous. We immediately felt like part of the family. He offered us the Persian Tea which I have never had it before and it was the best Tea I have ever had. We each had 3 1/2 glasses of it.
He brought us complimentary Afghanistan bread with green spicy sauce and white tzatziki sauce. We ordered the chumus as an appetizer. He brought us a plate of complimentary triangular stuffed bread before we even got our appetizer. Everything was mind-blowing delicious.
We ordered the Saffron King Combo. The meat was so flavorful and so tender. The veggies were fresh as if I was eating at a farm. The 2 different kinds of rice that comes with the King combo was literally the best rice I have ever had and I was a sushi chef for 3 years. I have never had any rice like that before in my life (they have 8 different kinds of rice I cant wait to come back and try the others). The portion sizes were sooo much we could have easily brought and fed my dad without spending another dollar. The pricing was very reasonable especially for HOW MUCH food you get.
He then brought us a display tray of all the house desserts they have. We got the pistachio cookies and angel hair cheese dessert. I really just cannot say enough good things about how good this food really really is. He gets the bread imported from Afghanistan and many other ingredients as well (you can definitely tell). I really want to give this place 10 stars.
David was extremely personable. He kept coming back to me and my mother many many times to make sure we had everything we needed and no it was not excessive or annoying it was the perfect service. He told us about how he came here from the middle east when he was only 16 years old and only had $10 in his pocket. He is a very good hearted man who knows how to serve people and make the best food.
We don't eat out very often because its expensive and we cook our own homemade meals most of the time. But we will definitely be back sometime soon and when we do go to eat out again it will most likely be here. There are so many other dishes to try that I can't wait. Thank's David for the amazing experience. Hope to...
Read moreNot a great experience. Had high expectations for a fancy Mediterranean place, but our hopes were crushed. They were very understaffed and for such a small restaurant, (with about 30 seats) sadly disorganized. One of the men (that seemed like an owner) took our order and didn’t really answer the questions we asked but just got us what he thought we’d like - he made us feel like we had no idea what we were about to eat and we needed someone else to decide for us (not a great feeling to be judged that way). We had zero service while we ate, and needed water refills for a very long time. The whole night was a bunch of waiting - waiting for the waiter to take our order, waiting for our drinks to come out, waiting for the food, waiting for a water refill, waiting for the check at the end. It took much longer than it should’ve. The food was subpar. There were some parts that were pretty good, like the many rices they offered, but the meat was overcooked, charred, tough, and not very flavorful. Overall it was not filling, and we were disappointed. It was not satisfying, and we left wishing we had gone somewhere else. When we left we saw that same man that took our order taking a smoke break in the back, which we were very, very shocked to see because they had a ton of people in the restaurant at the time, so we didn’t understand why a smoke break during such a busy time with already bad service was...
Read moreRead many of the reviews and I unfortunately believe the one star comments. The owner may not like what I'm about to share, but this is only constructive criticism. To the Owner: please don't be defensive about what I'm about to share as many of your responses show. Your responses should be kind to where you're willing to make things right for your customers, that's how you grow and take care of a business. I walked in and it seemed quaint, but eventually after being in there for awhile it smelled moldy-might be an old building. Food was okay. Some prices weren't listed on the menu so I had to ask, which was uncomfortable to do. If I didn't ask I would have spent an unreasonable amount-we're talking $120 up, for 4-5 people portions, which if calculated it's better to just get your own entree-price wise. Prices should be listed. The meat from the kabob plate I ordered was overcooked and very salty. I was chugging water the whole evening from that. Bread and sauces were great, but portion size could be better. Perrier bottles were way, WAY overpriced. Bathroom needs cleaned, felt very unclean. No need to explain further. Hopefully, the owner will make necessary changes. Until then, I unfortunately won't...
