Dr. Renée Moran Medical Aesthetics + The Men's Den Boston — Local services in Newton

Back in 2021 I made an appointment to see Dr Moran for a botox consultation. Upon my departure, I was blindsided with a $50 charge for the 2 minute conversation - this left me with a $50 credit. Fast forward to November 2023 I received a black friday special email and figured it was a good time to use my credit as I would be traveling to boston for a work event. I haven’t lived in Boston since 2021 - so it was not convenient for me to return otherwise. I purchased a hydrofacial with Dermaplane package and spoke to multiple people about my concern of having a facial before applying makeup hours later- the multiple people assured me if anything the results would be excellent from the treatment. I pre-paid over the phone & received my facial. The esthetician had to remove a few tinted layers from my skin as it was balling up and flaking off. When I went to apply my makeup later that night I was DEVASTATED. My makeup completely peeled off. The days to follow when I was able to let my skin breathe I realized a few things: my dermaplane results were messy, there were missed small patches of hair left on my face. I was also left with multiple blackheads. And most importantly, my skin was flaking and peeling for over a week. This facial is meant to pump hydration into the skin, so my results should not have been that it made my skin more dry. A few days later I reached out to call the business - multiple times my calls were declined and someone was texting me asking for the reason for my call. I asked numerous times for my call to be returned and it didn’t happen. They insisted I don’t deserve a refund because of a certain discount I received for black friday… I still paid $250 for the service that destroyed my skin… Days later I was finally able to get on the phone with the owner Dr Moran and the only thing she offered was to send me a serum and give me a partial credit. I let her know that I had the exact serum and home and had been using it, and it didn’t help. I assured her that i’ve never had this reaction to a facial before and since I am now 2 hours away a partial credit was not ideal as I had no interest in returning. Dr Moran and owner was not willing to satisfy my needs as a customer. She refused to refund me and was quite arrogant on the phone. I was extremely disappointed by my hydrofacial + dermaplaning at Dr Renee Moran's office and will not be going back. The entire treatment was 25 minutes long from start to finish. For a $300 treatment that is simply not acceptable. This was not my first hydrofacial so I know what to expect. Past treatments at other places have ranged between 45 minutes - 1 hour. I had a consultation at Dr. Moran’s office a few months ago regarding Botox and skincare services at her Seaport location. When I arrived, I was greeted by Emma, one of Dr. Moran’s estheticians. She was so sweet and personable and made me feel right at home! The decor of Dr. Moran’s office was true to my heart with the pink and gold combinations. Meeting Dr. Moran was truly a pleasure! She was very understanding of what my concerns and questions were and provided me with great insight on the Botox process, how long it lasts and pricing (which is very reasonable!) Because of personal issues, I am delaying getting Botox but I purchased products from Dr. Moran which I have to say, is absolutely amazing and I’m hooked on. Her deep pore detox mask is so amazing. I use it during my weekly self-care Sunday facials and the mask is so great. It goes on smooth and I don’t have to use excess product, it is not drying or harsh to the skin at all. In 20 minutes, I rinse the mask off and my skin is clear and pores are so clean! Her perfect pout polish I use daily! Especially in these harsh winter months, it goes on my lips smooth without that annoying sticky feeling. It has a pleasant tingle and gives your lips an amazing shine and they look plump and rosy!
