Jenn Allbritton put highlights in my hair after I specifically said that I did not want highlights and that I don't like the way highlights look.
After Jenn lied to me about what she was doing, she washed out the back section to reveal frosty highlights. I told her that it looks like highlights. I asked her to remove the rest of the back foils at the crown of my head, at which point she pouted off the salon floor and let them lighten for at least another 5 minutes. To spite me perhaps?
Jenn came back to angrily wash them out. I think I was still in shock that someone would pull such a brazen bait and switch on me. But quite frankly, I wasn’t trying to ruin my day or everyone else’s day in Station Row by walking out. Instead, to salvage the appointment, I said she could lighten the front of my hair without highlights or we could be done.
In the end, the front of my hair came out exactly how I wanted and the back came out exactly how she wanted-? I was grateful she was able to swallow her agenda and finish with what we had agreed upon prior to our appointment. Not so grateful that she sneakily gave me highlights when I indisputably said that I didn’t want them.
I paid for my services and included a tip. I felt sorry for her. She probably has a long road ahead of her if she doesn’t listen to what her client’s clearly state they want or don’t want. Because of this experience with Jenn Allbritton and unfortunately for the salon, Station Row, I would definitely recommend...
Read moreI have been a fan of the incredible Boston stylist Andy Tran for years now. He helped me through sudden hair loss in 2015, making me fabulous throughout with special styles and clip on extensions. Today, with the help of Andy and a regime, I have the hair of a movie star :-) When Andy moved from Allston last year, I was bummed. I love places that are walkable and t-accessible, it’s my spice of life. So, needless to say I was THRILLED when he went to Station Row in Newton Highlands, steps from the Greenline (with plenty of on-street parking as well if that’s your thing). Station Row is a fun and lively salon, a lot of hustle and bustle - a good time, upbeat atmosphere. That salon itself is clean and the reception area, while busy, is professional and efficient. I have loved spending several Saturday afternoons with Andy there getting my hair cut, colored and of course my beloved keratin treatments. It is one of the very few appointments I look forward to. ...
Read moreI have been a loyal client of Station Row for the past nine years, and I can confidently say it is the best salon I've ever experienced. When I first moved from the San Francisco area to Wellesley, Matthew and Shirley welcomed me with open arms and made me feel instantly at home. Over the years, I have visited many stylists, but none have matched the skill and artistry of Matthew and Shirley. Their attention to detail, patience, and expertise in both color and cutting are truly unparalleled.
What I appreciate most is their commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry. They consistently evolve, embracing the latest trends and techniques to ensure their clients always leave feeling modern and stylish. The salon’s atmosphere is further enhanced by Ami, the receptionist, whose warm smile and attentiveness make every visit a pleasure.
If you are searching for an exceptional salon experience, look no further than Station Row. I highly...
