After all of the hype, I was a little skeptical that this would end up a "looks good, tastes just okay" kind of bakery. I waited for a weekday that I had off of work to head over (30min drive for me) first thing when they open. They've expanded their weekday menu to include a few of the previous weekend-only specialties. I was pleasantly surprised to see the pistachio marscapone croissant that I thought was weekend-only. Got a pistachio marscapone croissant, orange chocolate almond croissant, and a regular pan au chocolate. All of them were delicious! I was really glad I got the regular pan au chocolate as it the croissant dough itself really shines through, while the other two have flavors that moreso overwhelm the croissant base. But don't let that sway you from other flavors! It ended up being so good, that the next week I had another opportunity the following week. That time I opted to try the hot chocolate cube croissant speciality and a bicolor chocolate croissant. Hot chocolate cube croissant was really amazing and delicious. Definitely messy with all the cream, but worth it. As for the bicolor chocolate croissant, it is stunningly beautiful, but I think we preferred the regular pan au chocolate in this case. Not pictured, I got three additional pastries to bring home to my family that I was flying to see that day: another regular pan au chocolate, an almond croissant, and a Kouign-amann. Kouign-amann was amazing. I've had many that just aren't made right, but Lakon Paris Patisserie does! The almond croissant I think was a little stale by the time we ate it, so I will definitely have to come back for a fresh one. Despite that, I can tell it will delicious when fresh. Definitely not a place with looks alone, the taste...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was super excited to stop by this place on our way to Boston. Iāve seen a lot of videos on Instagram and it looks delicious! Itās a small, cute cafe with a lot of unique pastries flavors/designs. The people at the front were really friendly. I was a little disappointed because they didnāt have several of the things shown on Instagram available for purchase which was the whole reason I stopped by. In the end I got the pistachio and Nutella banana croissants. The croissants themselves were huge and both stuffed with a filling and had some toppings as well. The pistachio was SO good. I loved how light the cream inside was, there were pieces of nuts on the top and it was a great bite. Iād definitely get it again 5/5. The Nutella banana was good but just too chocolatey for me. I thought there would be a little more banana aspect to it and the banana on top was like a dehydrated one so very crunchy. Which was good! I probably wouldnāt get this one again. They had a lemon meringue one that I really wish I would have gotten and would get if I went back. It is pretty pricy for croissants but they are very decadent so fun for once in a while. Overall it was a good experience and Iād definitely come back.
I am back to correct my earlier review: as I got further into the banana Nutella croissant I really did get more of a banana flavor and less Nutella so I ended up liking it much more after that. I still didnāt love how chocolatey it was overall, but it was much better than I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here last Saturday after seeing all the trending posts about the croissants. Like many others who were waiting in line for over an hour, they ran out of specialty croissants and bought only the regular and chocolate croissants. They were decent but nothing special and not worth $7-8. The pistachio cake is delicious though. Would try more cakes. Got the soda/fruit drink which was a bad idea - totally watered down with just syrup and carbonated water. It did start snowing a little during the wait in line and the staff came out with hot chocolate for everyone so that was very nice of them. Canāt say it was worth the wait regardless. Tried to pre order this morning for Saturday for 2 hours. starting at 8 am, there was nothing but straight rejection while calling. When we finally connected, we were rudely told that they capped at 50 pre orders and āfirst come first serve.ā Although I understand that there is high demand, there was no reason to answer like that as there was no way for us to pre order if you were not answering the phone. I hope you guys are able to better your ordering system or capacity for orders. Perhaps weāll try again when the hype has died down, but these 2 experiences were not great. I heard theyāre opening up another location in Brookline - I think it would have been a better idea to open a store north of Boston instead of the next town over, but thatās just my opinion and I donāt want to drive for an hour just to be...
