If you're a serious chocolate lover, then you have to check out Cacao. This cute chocolate store is a hidden gem, tucked away in the heart of Newton. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the super-friendly staff who are eager to help you find the perfect chocolate treat. The store serves great Brooklyn coffee, which pairs perfectly with their amazing chocolate. Whether you're in the mood for dark, milk, or white chocolate, you'll find a wide variety of options available to satisfy your pickiest chocolate cravings. They also have some unique chocolate flavors that you won’t find in most chocolate shops (like passion fruit and spicy Aztec). Overall, I highly recommend checking out Cacao. It's the perfect place to treat yourself or find a special gift for the chocolate lover in your life. The staff is incredibly welcoming and their passion for chocolate is contagious. You won't be disappointed!

Cacao is a small cafe located in Newton Highlands, specializing in chocolate related confectionery and drinks. We came in during the afternoon, and it was quite busy but the staff were very accommodating and knew the menu quite well, recommending some things to try out. They had a large assortment of pre-assembled goods to buy, such as chocolate covered nuts, as well as hot chocolate mix. We tried the hot chocolate and the dulce de leche. The portion size was reasonable for the price, and the chocolate was pretty good. The hot chocolate was made primarily of dark chocolate, which isn't my favorite, but turned out to be a good choice as it cooled down and became more rich. Overall, a great experience and would definitely come back to try again.

I stopped by Cacao after a Pilates class next door and was pleasantly surprised! I didn't realize it was a Dominican coffee shop at first, but once I saw the decor, I had a little moment like, "wait a minute, why does all this feel familiar?!" And I may or may not be biased because I'll always support my people I ordered a buttered croissant and a dulce de leche latte to enjoy there. The space is homey and warm, the kind of place that immediately makes you feel grounded. For a few minutes, it really felt like home, especially seeing touches of my roots reflected in the atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and there's a great variety of drinks and pastries. I'll definitely be back. So glad my friend recommended it.
