I came to Classic Bowl today with some friends to catch up and have some fun bowling. I chose this bowling alley because I had come here for a birthday party last summer and the deals were fantastic and the staff were usually very nice, unfortunately today when we got there my friends wanted to rent shoes themselves because I was paying for the games and the gentlemen working at the register just immediately shut it down and said "only one person pays and that's that" so after that I just decided that's fine and I'll pay for their shoes, after paying he asked for the shoe sizes and went to go grab them. Now usually at bowling alleys they allow you to swap out bowling shoes if the ones they gave you don't fit cause they are too big/small and my one friend thought he would need bigger shoes so he asked for a larger size and upon trying them on he realized they were too big so he asked to swap them out and instead of being polite and agreeing the cashier instead rudely said "Nope, you get what you get. Go big or go home" which we were quite surprised by. I really like coming here to bowl but it was hard to after what he had said because then after we just went to the lane he just kept on staring at us from the counter and my friends started to feel quite uncomfortable. This was probably my worst experience I have had with a bowling alley and especially with customer service because it shouldn't have been that big of a deal to swap out a pair of shoes and instead we got a snarky remark back. I hope that this doesn't happen again in the future with any other customers, and I hope that if I do decide to come back again myself and my friends would like to be treated...
Read moreMy friend had a suprise 50th birthday party here yesterday & let me say everything was amazing! How the bowling alley handled our big party was impressive. The birthday girl had an awesome time, bowling & food was great! Only problem we ALL had was with the Male bartender. He is not a good bartender. He is so slow and truly doesn't know how to handle a crowd and doesn't have a friendly personality. There were people needing drinks and he was too busy washing dishes even though there were plenty of dishes around the bar. Customers should always be first. It would have been a huge catastrophe but the female bartender came in and saved the day! She clocked in and went to work. There were like 5 people in need of a drink and she worked so fast to serve everyone. She was super attentive and made us feel welcomed unlike the other bartender. The male bartender was even in the female bartender way. He isn't fit for a busy bar. He just slows the process down, especially when you have a fast bartender who knows what she is doing! But I think the bartender who's name is I think Niki or Nicole was awesome! She took all our plates from the bar and made sure everyone was taken care of, it was a huge relief. We couldn't thank her enough and wish we knew about her so we could have requested her. But we will definitely have another event here and request her. Thank you to all the other staff that helped and was super friendly! Everyone ended up having...
Read moreI started bowling in June of 2023. Since then, I have bowled at dozens of bowling alleys. By far, the greatest of these is Classic Bowl in Morton Grove. The staff are amazing; they feel like part of my extended family! Rina is the best, always friendly and accommodating. Paul (the Air Fryer King), J.D., John, Jonathan, and Nathan always greet me with a smile, give me bowling tips and even life advice, helping me through some difficult times. Dan keeps the lanes running smoothly and lends a helping hand. Ray is the hardest working man in the bowling business. If you work up an appetite after bowling, be sure to stop by Boba Burger for some of the best food in the suburbs.
I see many families enjoying themselves at Classic; it caters to a wide range of bowling enthusiasts. I have bowled in a dozen leagues over the past year and a half, and I now exclusively bowl in leagues at Classic--no alley comes close! The people I have met on the leagues have changed my life. They have made me a better bowler and a better human being. Finally, Rich and Rochelle Blake in the pro shop (Chicago Bowlers Shop) have been instrumental in my bowling success; they are a phenomenal asset to the establishment. I feel very blessed to have found Classic Bowl, and I hope to bowl there until I can no longer roll! Bowl at the...
