American Mattress — Hotel in Maine Township

As an American Matress loyalist, I write this 1 star review with the intent that the company looks into their card reading machines.

I bought a matress from American Mattress on June 17, 2025. I used a card that had only been used once before for a TSA precheck renewal. On June 22nd, my card information was hacked multiple times (15 to be exact). I came in on June 28th to talk privately with the manager Jimmy. After discussing for 20 min, Jimmy was very adament that it was not their fauly and I had no proof otherwise. I ended up cancelling my $2k purchase and will search elsewhere to spend my money.

This situation sucks because I know both the owners and other store workers who still vow this is a great company (I worked here 10 years ago, thus my loyalty). I just wish that there would have been some sort of accounability/responsibility taken from either Jimmy or the GM that I talked to that would have prevented this negative review.

Mattress Shopping is not a top ten favorite of mine, but today was a whole new experience. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. Joseph C. was so pleasant and did NOT give off the "sales" vibe to us at all. I brought my questions and Joseph went above and beyond to not only answer them but then provided mattress options and suggestions on mattresses to try. for example memory foam vs hybrid. Mattress shopping while Having pain issues was not really what I had in mind today but after a nightmare experience with a previous Bed Company last Friday and ending up with no bed after 32 days of waiting for a delivery of a mattress and base. We enjoyed Joseph’s no pressure explanation of the various makes, models and firmness selections. We zeroed in on two mattresses one medium firm the other was firm. Both were hybrids. We talked about the sale and exchange policy. We shopped locally and learned we were close enough for free delivery and take away of our old mattress and box spring. Joseph helped us feel comfortable in our decisions. We went back and forth numerous times between firm and medium firm. No pressure at all. We were very pleased with our decision. We purchased a box spring and mattress cover after selecting the firm mattress. Originally we were shopping on line (Costco and ABT) but like keeping our business local and liked being able to see and lay upon all different models, not just luxury mattresses.
