If you're looking for the best burgers, hot dogs, and gyros in Niles, Dear Franks is the place to go! Their juicy 1/3 lb. char-burgers are grilled to perfection, the hot dogs are always fresh and flavorful, and the gyros are loaded with tender, seasoned meat and that classic creamy tzatziki sauce—absolutely delicious.

I can’t get enough of their pizza puffs (crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor) and their cheddar cheese fries—golden fries smothered in rich Wisconsin cheddar. Their Italian beef is also a must-try, piled high with perfectly seasoned beef and your choice of hot or sweet peppers.

A big shoutout to Randy and his crew, who always go above and beyond to make every visit great. They’re friendly, fast, and treat customers like family—just another reason why Dear Franks is such a neighborhood gem.

Whether you’re grabbing takeout in Niles, stopping in for a quick meal, or ordering catering for an event, Dear Franks delivers consistent, mouthwatering quality every time.

No matter what you’re craving—gyros, a pizza puff, Italian beef, or a classic hot dog—Dear Franks in Niles always hits the spot. Definitely a...

Well, this is tough - how do I rate this joint without personally feeling like I am taking away from any of the other great Chgo joints? Just gonna do it.

Dear Franks is DA BOMB. This place is not only packed full of Chgo history, they post daily newspaper pages for your reading enjoyment while stuffing your face. And face-stuffing you're gonna do! I ordered the Gyro Dog and two Italian combos - sweet and juicy, and hot a juicy. The sandwiches are really as big as the photo shows. The sweet and juicy combo was so sloppy and delicious! And they have many other great sammich combos - the grilled polish, grilled dogs, even the chic sammies are sloppily good! Since I visit northwest edge of Chgo when in town, this is among my must visit spots, right up there w/ Super Dawg and Chris'.

Yeah, go to Dear Franks if you're within 25 miles. ...

I got the patty melt. I asked for it with cheddar instead of American cheese. The patty was completely dry and flavorless. No seasoning at all, not even a teeny bit of salt when they were cooking it, I don’t know how they managed to get every drop of juice out of it but they did. The cheddar cheese turned out to be a spreadable cheddar, which I actually like. And the spreadable cheddar is usually really tangy, but it was so thin I could barely see it or taste it. And the onions were cooked for maybe 30 seconds on the grill. Grilled onions are supposed to be soft and caramelized, these were much closer to raw onions. The bread was properly grilled is the only good thing I can say about the sandwich. ☹️

The service was good which is why I gave...

Cute place but food was just ok. A fully uncooked fry ended up in my basket and lots of the rest were undercooked (noticeably odd texture and lighter color). The soda machine lacks serious maintenance as all of sodas tasted DISGUSTING. I wish I was joking! Please TASTE THE SODA FIRST. The cleanliness is ok although the ketchup bottles and the soda dispenser were both noticeably dirty. Bathroom was clean though! I ordered a Gyro meal and the gyro was fine, nothing to write home about but passeable. I probably didn’t like it as much after the terrible soda and undercooked fries…it feels like a suburb attempt at being a Chicago place. Probably won’t eat here again.

I figured I would try this place for the first time, so I went with the gyro sandwich with sauce only and some fries. I usually go to Grecian Kitchen yet I was on this side of town. Anyway, I’m trying to figure out why what should be shaved lamb is chunky and why the pita bread tastes like fried donut. Please for the love of everything holy, go where it is made best and taste it, you may not make in exactly and no one is saying you should, yet come on, it’s like your not even trying. At this point it’s Grecian Kitchen for me. Thanks anyway. !

Don't often go thru this area Dropped my daughter at half-price books and was looking for parking. Got really hungry, and went to Dear Franks. The place was clean. Was your typical menu mostly, got the jumbo char-grilled dog with everything. It also had sauerkraut on it that didn't overpower in flavor. The Frank was cooked perfectly, fresh tomato and sport peppers, onions, relish and pickle. Crinkle fries were crisp and good. It was delicious and hit the spot. Will definitely check out other menu items when I get around that way again.
