DO NOT ever place a reservation online in this place. I placed it hours before their closing time and when I arrived, the locker was not prepared, there was no key to be found (their website provided instructions that I would find a code-lock with a key to the locker) I then did not have any use for that locker and had to haul back a big sectional I was trying to store there (which was already a horrible experience.)
I then tried contacting through phone, online chat, and email and received NO response even 'till this day. I attempted to reach out in person several times but every time I showed up, their store was closed to the public even though there were clear signs with their hours and they were supposed to be open. There were a few times that the main entrance was closed due to construction being done by the city of Skokie in their front entrance, but I never found any signs about alternative customer support, as far as I could see around the building, there is only a single entrance with customer service.
I continued to be charged ~$700 in those 3 months with no hope in sight, until finally I was able to find Jeff and Mike in office and they were of no help at all. They supposedly contacted corporate and said they could only refund me one month's worth of charges because they only hear from me until 3 months later. BUT IT WAS THEIR TRASH SYSTEM THAT WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO CONTACT THEM THROUGH THAT WHOLE TIME. I asked Jeff if I could talk to a higher up in corporate myself but he denied me that service.
I am now filing a claim directly with my bank to get a full refund for a service they never provided. It is by far the WORST experience with any customer support that I've ever had.

Read moreScott and Jeff are competent, confident, friendly, and fantastic folks to work with. When we first visited the site, Scott gave us a tour and told us the ins and outs of the place(the grounds crew were also putting new mulch around the trees and mowing the grass). At no point did the conversation feel forced or were we pressured to sign up immediately, unlike two previous places my wife and I visited. We were able to reserve a cube (no fee to do so) to weight out our options over the week, but we had such a positive first impression that we ended up going with this location the next day. Jeff handled the paperwork and logistics the following day, and, like Scott, he was also great to work with.
The facility itself is well kept and maintained. The climate controlled space is significantly better than the two other companies we previously visited. Absolutely zero smell of mildew or mold throughout the facility. We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with this CubeSmart location, in part because of the cleanliness of the physical space, but also because of Scott and Jeff who run the show.
